Oddly enough I appear to already have the same vent in your photo attached to my dipstick; but the loose one is definitely attached to the transfer case. I'll dig back in there and figure it out when my new steering cable bushing arrives. Should I be concerned about moisture in the transfer...

Learned this bushing lesson yesterday when I got stuck at the dump . . . instead of getting a new bushing I would like to just bore the linkage and bolt it; any advice on getting to the back nut to loosen the linkage arm, it just spins . . .

Thx, I'll run it to ground. the hose also has a hole rubbed thru by the transfer drive shaft . . .

Well this thread answered my I.D. question . . . this was laying loose on top of the tranny when I went to repair the shift linkage bushing. Anyone have a pic of where this should be bolted on an o4 LJ?
