Any ideas? I have watched the YouTube video about installing the MCE flat fenders on a TJ and I don’t have the cutout template. Called MCE and was told I can’t order one and CS simply said, “lots of manufacturers don’t provide parts of kits…” My buddy spoke very highly of company and product, but after 1 day, I do not (will never recommend after 1 call). Have checked the website but no dice. Anyone have any idea where to find a template for fender cut?? Please help

I don't know if this will help, but this is what I sent to the guy that bought my fronts. The jut out is where the factory hood latches would be (if you look inside your fender well you'll see the support around it).

You could pretty much just use your hood to draw a line with a sharpie and follow that until the latch.

I would call again; that is a ridiculous response. Maybe you got through to the 'wrong' person or somebody who was having a very bad day. If they are still unhelpful maybe it is worth saying you are sharing your experience on sites like this where there are a lot of potential customers.

If MCE still refuses to send the template to you, you could always download and print it from their website and them tape the pieces of paper together to make the template. I do think the template is still available as a PDF on their website unless they have removed it.

On the rear wall of the wheel opening, continue the body line up. After that, just leave about an inch around where the flare bolts go.

That's unacceptable, MCE sent me a template with my fenders I installed 15-16 years ago. I sent them an email with a link to this thread. Hopefully it will help.

They responded to my email....

Mr. Bransford thank you for reaching out and first and for most I’d like to apologize for the experience this member may have had when calling our customer service. I can’t speak for his experience nor confirm who he spoke to. But that is definitely not the answer we would provide a customer requesting just a template. We get these requests for templates all the time from customer because of different reasons they have lost it or misplaced it.

So to finalize if this gentleman is still looking for this template please have him reach out to us we do like to make a few probing questions to make sure we are working with our product and after confirming we’ll send template out.

How did you guys apply paint after cutting, and what kind of paint did you use, to keep the bare metal from rusting?
Nothing special is needed, I'd give it a quick coat of aerosol Rustoleum self-etching primer and maybe a coat of Rustoleum paint.

Yeah, I just used a can of whatever I had sitting around and painted the exposed metal a little. I knew mine were temporary and the fenders were leaving soon - so I didn't go too crazy.

I used a can of rustoleum rust reformer because I usually have it laying around. Dries quickly to matte black finish.
