Hey y'all, I thought I would share this high volume fuel pump setup I devised for my TJ. It uses a Walbro 450 pump and has an internal adjustable regulator. The Walbro 450 pumps are good for over 700 horsepower on pump gas and are also E85 compatible. The regulator is adjustable from 25psi all the way to 120psi. The regulator can either be run at a static pressure like the factory system, or as a 1:1 rising rate regulator for forced induction. I used an electrical passthru my company produces that is fuel safe and 100% leak proof to over 200 psi. I made it to plug into the factory electrical connector and use the factory level sensor. It also plugs into the factory feed line and has an auxiliary return port for a flex fuel sensor should I decide to install one later. To finish it all off I had it anodized black, and used a Holly Hydramat sock to prevent fuel starvation at extreme angles. I installed it into the tank of the turbo TJ today and am currently testing it out on that first. I also cut a hole in the back to access the adjustment screw so I can change the pressure easily. I will probably also install one on the other TJ and test the stock engine at different fuel pressures to determine if there are any advantages in economy or even hot start by having more pressure. Of course that will require a tune to compensate for the higher pressure. Thoughts???
