Whomever it was that designed the stupid nutsert/nylock nut combo on those fender flares should really be reserved a place in hell. A normal "easy" job turned into a bit of a nightmare, but at least they are off now! New ones go on tomorrow when I'm done being irritated.

I can relate. I just did all that and thought it would be an easy, relaxing little project. NOT!
Yours looks super clean, though.

I have a set of 6 inch, and a set of 8 inch flares and I remove and replace my flares at will now with the Metalcloaks and SS hardware

6 inch on the YJ, 8 inch on the TJ

Using a ratcheting wrench on those bastards makes them a lot easier to deal with.

I installed the new rubi width flares from rough country yesterday and I feel yah. Ratcheting wrench all the way. I've had thoughts of replacing with nutserts but that creates its own problems.

I just recently removed mine to do a major detail to mine. Whomever designed this setup should be shot.
Once I had the flares removed, I noticed how bad the paint is on the body. There is actually dirt embedded into the paint.
Why didn't these asshats use a seal between the flare and the body to keep out all the dirt.

Not to be more of a Milwaukee Fanboi than I already am but the small head on the 1/4" Fuel ratchet and a short 5/16 or 8mm socket makes short work of those flare screws and bolts.

I wouldn't do them again without a ratcheting wrench. It makes it easier, but I agree that the guy who came up with those blocks should be shot, hanged, castrated, and boiled in oil, not necessarily in that order.

My 1/4" small head sat around unused for a long time after I bought it, and still doesn't see a ton of use, but every so often it is really good at reducing my pissed offedness.

We use it a bunch since I have a full set of 1/4" sockets handy. The Fuel 1/4 has the same power as the 3/8's so it gets used a fair bit.
