What did you do to your TJ today?

Saturday night philosophy: When traveling trails it doesn't matter conservative or progressive you still have to turn left and right to reach your destination.

Are you out with your mates Jim Bean and Mary jane again ... :ROFLMAO: ;)

Not today but last week. New pitman arm as the one on the TJ was for a right hand drive and I have a left hand drive. SMH. New drag link, tie rod and tie rod ends. The week prior was a new track bar since the one on there was too long causing the front axle to be shifted to the passenger side by an inch.

Like Forest Gump said, this TJ is like a box of chocolates, ...

Went through cades cove which I have done 1000 or more times but Parsons branch is now open it’s a 6-7 mile gravel road with some easy creek crossings nothing challenging just fun, it does put you out on US129 on the dragon which is 7-10 do not recommend in a Jeep, especially on a beautiful weekend when it’s busy. All in all fun time with the wife and little one.

Bought a Smittybilt SRC rear bumper with integrated tow rated hitch a few weeks ago so I thought I’d get around to removing the old bumper. those bolts in the bottom of the frame fought me. Been spraying with Kroil for the past few days and running the bolts out and then in a few times to work that miracle liquid in. Passenger side was awful, but both came out with some effort and I didn’t snap the bolts. You can see how rusted the passenger side bolt was in the pic.
Cleaned up the threads in the frame with a thread chaser (M12x1.75) and they’re ready for the new bolts. just need to clean up the surface rust and paint the rear frame crossmember and then I’ll mount the new bumper/hitch next weekend.

A good friend and his wife own the Deer Park and Petting Zoo in Sevierville, the next time I visit them, I'll have to checkout Cades Cove.

I rode the dragon on my CBR900RR several times in the mid-90s. It was just starting to become popular back then - not at all like today. A great road to ride a sport bike. A TJ, not so much! I can imagine the headlights appearing in your rear-view mirror constantly...

yes wasn't bad on Friday, I also know the road quiet well so that helps. We use to ride it as a group every Sunday for years probable at least down and back 20-30 times each day until the cops got terrible because people don't know how to stay in their lane. Its a great ride and there are even better roads all around that area that are nowhere near as popular.

I’m surprised at how much quieter and more solid my Jeep rides after installing the adjustable uppers on the front and rear. Definitely more heavy duty too.

Novice suspension question but when installing the adjustable, are you simply measuring the length of the existing ones you are replacing? Also, are adjustable a choice simply based on lift height etc or is there more involved in it? I'm planning a lift for next year are looking at adjustbale in the kit but starting to drill into the why and what for questions. Thanks

We just got back from an epic trip there and highly recommend as I am sure you do. We did do the entire Tail as well as Moonshiner 28 in the Jeep top down and yes, busy and somewhat hectic but no prob as long as you don't let the others push you. I was lucky enough to be behind a slow truck so it wasnt my fault.
