I like ‘em. They aren’t on the Centerline site. Discontinued? Specs?
They were called Centerline Telstar. Discontinued i think so yes. They rock. Look very close to the steel chrome wheels it came with.

Swapped these in and fixed my wobble at 62 problem. Probably 5 years ago.

Made in california. For me I thought the perfect wheels.

Custom backspace. I wanna say 4.5".

Anyway I vote for 5 spoke. No funny bolts and stuff hard to polish.

Yep. I looked at these, too. A nice look similar to the ProComp. I was hopeful that they would be US manufactured. And they may have been, at one point by Alcoa, I read. But now it seems they come from Shanghai, China. Still look good, though, especially on your rig.
thanks..mine are the old Classic II's....don't know where they were made...but I bought them from Quadratec's clearance sale about 6 years ago for $50ea, so the price was right

Not everyone loves black steelies but I think my cheap D-windows look more than fine on my TJ. However, they are heavy, not very round and impossible to balance.

So it’s time for new wheels. I’ve come up with 2 aluminum 15x8 options both of which fit over my 16” BMBs (although the sticky weights will need to be outboard of the caliper edge):

The front is an Ultra 5051 and the rear is a ProComp 69 series. Weight is about 17.5# for both (as an aside, if I run Coyote pneumatic beadlocks they will add about 6# per wheel). BS is 3.65” for the Ultra and 3.75” for the ProComp. The Ultra is $40 more per wheel but comes clear coated. The cost of clear powder coating the ProComp evens that out (no way I’m willing to maintain a polished wheel).

Neither are made in the USA 🙁 The Ultra comes from Thailand and the ProComp from China. There are not many US options out there but I’d go that way, if I could as I’d prefer to keep my $ here.

I like them both. I’m leaning towards the Ultras because they are a little cleaner/less busy looking, possibly less common and they are already coated. Your thoughts?

Edit; @Chris showed me how to create a poll. At the time I did (5/28 @0900) responses where 13 to 4 in favor of the Ultras.
Thanks everyone. the results of the poll are 9 to 7 in favor of the Ultras. But, when I count the posts before I figured out how to put up the poll, the Ultras still win, but by a larger margin of 22 to 11. So I got the Ultras:

I still need to paint the hubs since I don’t run center caps. These wheels are 9# lighter each (45# total weight reduction) than the steel D-windows (17.8# vs 26.8# ). They also balanced well and feel smoother presumably because they look to have much less hop and lateral runout than the steel wheels.

33x12.5x15
I will paint the hubs. Waiting on weather and possibly an upcoming rear axle project.

@Woodrow Did you measure the 3.62”BS on the ultras? I see on their website they offer -19 in a 15x8 only. Just curious bc I’m looking at some used ultras locally and he measured them to be 3.5 (more than I want) and the valve stem is in a different location then any I’ve ever seen. He has 33x12.5x15 tires mounted on them.

I did measure them and got essentially the same backspace number (3.65"). On the tire rack site there are +19mm and -19mm options in 15x8 as well as -6mm in 15x7. -19mm is the 3.65" BS.

Those look great. Going to need some elbow grease or a professional restore, but I bet they will end up looking great!

Was thinking the same and my steelies are really starting to get beat up as I ramp up my wheeling.
I’m going to try and take a look/pick up tomorrow. I’ll bet they’re the same size and BS as @Woodrow Ultras.

Me too. You inspired me. Thx.

Those are 31x10.5-15 mud tires too, incase you want to know. 2" leveling lift , works great on my 4 banger 5 speed. With trueloc front and rear LSD it goes as fast as I want to go and will go down any back wood trail and shallow creek crossing I will be going on . Looking for scenic trails and adventures , relaxing fun and it fits the bill. Setting it up a little tuff and made for the trails I will be on.
Oh by the way wheels are 15x8 -19 all 5.

Can’t lie.. I have been back to the thread a hundred times and burrowed into @Woodrow profile image folder. I have been thinking of defecting from the ProComps to the Ultra’s. Partly because NE winter is coming and I am fearing what the ProComps will look like come spring, partly because I want to go to a 15x8 and partly because my 69’s is perfect condition and would likely sell in a weekend. I have 15x10 ProComp 69’s.

I looked at American Racing AR23’s too, but the clear coat isn’t all that robust.
