2004 LJ and I've done the diagnostics per @mrblaine post here https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/auto-trans-shifter-will-not-lock-42lre.61426/#post-1102625 and can't feel or see the solenoid actuate with the key in the run or start positions and the brake fully depressed. I can toggle the little yellow tab with my thumb and make the cable release. It looks like the Mopar part number should be 52104422AE and everywhere I look the part shows discontinued. This is what it looks like. https://store.mopar.com/oem-parts/mopar-park-interlock-cable-52104422ae (I know, that page doesn't show discontinued but I'm not hopeful. It's unavailable everywhere else)
Does anyone know of an alternate part number or source? Or am I stuck rolling the dice with Ebay or an online junkyard?

I think Daveys’ Jeeps might be worth talking to but I’ve not ever known to be able to get one unless you can find somebody that still got one in inventory

I wonder if we need to start some kind of sticky to start tracking sources for obsolete parts

When I was doing my auto swap I was trying to find Chrysler vehicles that shared common parts, and I believe the interlock cable for a jeep liberty kj is the same.

Looks similar but different. I assume the thing in the middle of the TJ cable is the solenoid (is that correct?) and the KJ part doesn't have it.

Ah it looks like it. It was the ignition piece that the yellow clip attaches to that’s the same.
So assuming it's the correct length, and I used it, the only thing that would be missing is the brake pedal solenoid interlock. The ignition would still need to be turned to "run". That sound right?

When you put it all back together, did you make sure the little 'pebble' was inside the metal piece that attaches to the bottom of the lock cylinder? Mine was missing and it did the same thing. I was able to get another one from Davey's Jeeps.

It's never been apart. It just quit functioning.

We have a yard down here that keeps 5 to 10 of them around if you keep coming up with a dead ends I’ll see if I can get out there and see if there’s anything to be had

That would be great but don't want to to have to pick n pull. So far no luck.

Found one at J&W Auto Wreckers in Antelope California and it will ship UPS. Not cheap but if they had more in stock I would have bought them all.
