Searched the forum (and web) but did not find a post on anyone that has removed a Viper alarm from a TJ - alarm appears vintage like the Jeep - its installed behind the instrument cluster. Anyone that has done it or can point me to some info is appreciated. Main concern is reroutes or cuts to harnesses when this thing was put in. 1999 and alarm looks from same range. Thanks all.

I use to pull all the alarms out of used car bought at auction. Here is a list of most if not all circuits to check. Some or all will apply when you get to where the factory harness was tied into repair the splice area.
Access the alarm module and remove.
Remove siren under hood.
Motion shock sensor 1” x 2” box usually under dash and may have separate plug to module
Valet switch or button
Wires tapped into;
Running lamps may be at headlamp switch or even running out to running lamp.
Door switch @ door switch or under dash light
Wires at ignition switch
Battery power
Ignition power
Start wire cut to install kill relay remove relay and will need to be reconnected use a short piece of wire if you cannot connect.

The led can be left in place to fill the hole, if you connect the positive side to battery power and the negative side to ignition it should flash when the key is turned off and go off when the key is on.

If you have power door lock let me know those are a little more work .
Here is a link to manuals for wiring diagram so you can follow the wires if needed.

Unfortunately the few I've removed were installed using Scotch lock splices. They suck because they cut half the strands inside the insulation. Be prepared to possibly splice and solder what's left of a few wires. Id have some heat shrink butt splices, some heat shrink tube and some patients to eliminate the system.

If the right scotch locks were used there shouldn’t be a problem, but shrink butt splices can be use if the damage is excessive by just cutting the wire and reconnecting.

I pulled this piece of crap out of mine last month. Not fun. It had been spliced into the ignition wire, too, with zero slack.

Fairly straightforward.
If the alarm wires go to a wire tap- just remove the alarm wire. I wouldn't remove the tap unless you plan on repairing the wires (cut, splice, solder, insulate)
If the the alarm wires go to a relay- find out which two vehicle wires go to terminals 30 and 87a on the relay. Those two will need to be spliced back together. Wires going to terminals 85 and 86 can be removed, taped off and the relay removed.

Automatic door locks will be another story. If you want to keep them, you will need a door lock/unlock module off if ebay. Then you will need to wire it into where the alarm was wired into. A wiring diagram for your year jeep will help here.

You have that backwards the 30 & 87 or 87a will need to be spliced back together this will be the start wire. 85 & 86 should go to the module. It will be self explanatory though.

Thank you. Wish me luck.

I'm hoping the wiring isn't to much of a butcher job. Thanks for the reply.

Thank you. It does have automatic door locks installed, but they keep blowing the lift rods off the key locks - it's all coming out. :)

Hoping the alarm wiring is easily identified during tear out - unbundled and black tape wraps are usually a dead giveaway.

Thank you. Wish me luck.

Take your time it won’t be a problem just repair each splice and move onto the next. You may want to use a self sealing or vulcanizing tape to seal the splices. On the door locks if you have any issues send some pictures I will see if I can guide you through it.
