What is a fair asking price for my 2000 TJ 2.5 5-speed?

I've been offered $10K but I'm thinking at least $12K with todays used car prices. I Got $6K in new Parts in it.

It's worth no more than $5500 tops. If someone offered you $10,000, you should have taken it before they sobered up.

I've been offered $10K but I'm thinking at least $12K with todays used car prices. Just saw a Fugly Kia Soul for $12K around the corner from me. Which one would want to be seen in? I Got $6K in new Parts in it.

It's a NE car. That puts one strike against it.
4 banger. Strike two.

The three pics you shared are way too few for a TJ buyer to make a decision. Share some pics of the floor boards, torque boxes, frame etc. What service have you done here? Rails cleaned and treated in and out? Floors in good order?

What you paid for new parts has minimal bearing on the resale. If you can document the parts/labor it helps, but if you're looking to get your $6k back... not likely.

Candidly, that $10k you were offered was more than it will fetch.. would have been wise to take that offer and run.

Ask $7000. Take anything over $5000. Without knowing the condition of the frame etc.. even that price would be a stretch.

And what does the Kia Soul have to do with the price of a TJ?

How long have you owned this Jeep?
Or do you just flip vehicles for a profit?

Bought my jeep in 2000, I Flip S10s I'm in farmland with lots of old folks, all have full size pickups it's tough for them to get in and out of. They love there trucks S10s fit there daily needs for hitting Walmart and tractor supply.

And further evidence that you should've taken the $10k... the market started to self correct a few months ago... used cars are once again going down to where they should have been. August 2022 was the height of the used market... look at the stock values of the public owned used dealers... you will see they all started to plummet in Aug. I was offered $5k over what I paid for my 2020 Gladiator (I bought new 3/2020)... I could not get the same color, so was no deal.

All those overly priced cars that are now sitting on lots are losing the dealerships money faster than the gas that goes through them... Jeeps are no exception to that.

Find your $10k buyer again and offload the 4cyl Jeep quickly, or don't expect over the $5-7k mark that nearly everybody has quoted...

You can find 4 banger manuals for $5000 all day long in the Jersey market, you should have jumped on the 10K offer.

As noted that Carvana is most certainly headed to bankruptcy, overpaid for goods and losing money on almost every sale.

This 4 Banger is a beach Buggy, permanently stationed in the Carolinas you don't need that extra weight of a 6 Banger to sink you. I had a 1993 Range Rover I got stuck on the beach over and over and no trees to winch your self out. There are no Rocks to Crawl in Eastern Carolina.
