Where are you guys sourcing your full circle snap rings for your front axle u-joints? I need the obligatory 8 for mine but I’d like to purchase extra as well. I keep seeing crazy high prices for a set of 4…

These are for my Spicer 5-760X u-joints…

Any help is appreciated!

mine came with the U-joints, you could try your local driveshaft/ 4 wheel shop or call Spcier and they might just throw some in an envelope for you. Not sure why you would ever need just the snap-ring, but Im sure someone is there for you.

Because they were thicker and fit the clip grove of the joint better. The 1 3/16 are only. 05mm thick. The 30mm are 1.5mm thick.

I see now. The 1 3/16” are actually 0.050” thick and the 30mm are 0.059” thick (1.50mm)…

I ended up ordering packs of the 1 3/16” and the 30mm. Just in case I have one that’s a little bit too tight to fight in…

I’d hate to get that far in and need to take it all apart, but I’d rather have the extras and end up not needing them…

Have you had the remaining unmachined material (approx 90*) machined to allow for the installation of the C clips ?
Over 20 years ago I used a Dremel and abrasive cutting wheels to remove the remaining material inside the yoke ears so that I could install the C clips. Removing the material from the 8 yoke ears can be a tedious job.
After the experience with the first set of axles... I brought the next set of axle shafts to the local machine shop. Once they did the measurements and set up a jig to do the machining; they removed the material from the 8 yoke ears in about 30 minutes .

They are being fully machined to accommodate the full circle clips. I didn’t want a “ledge” where they would be hanging off of unsupported. Hopefully installation goes without issue…

Well the 30mm clips from McMASTER-CARR couldn’t have worked any better. Fit perfectly and install went extremely smooth. Thank you to all whom commented…

Back in my Dana 44 with chromo shaft days that is what I ran. I wouldn't run anything else.

I meant; I don't know what brand axles I have, so I don't know what size u-joints are in them.
Most likely 5-760 (or equivalent).
I should probably measure before I actually need one.
