Problem with local shop

I looked, but couldn't find a review in either place. Maybe not up yet?

Or they have ways to filter it, this review hints it.

Also, most of the reviews are generic broad positive statements, typical sign that they paid for cheapest positive reviews service.

They expect me to believe that this social butterfly, that spends day and night on her phone, simply created a profile on google just to post about her amazing experience at a dirty mechanic shop ?

BTW, I had spoke to Al (manager, head mechanic, co-owner) from the first shop on Tuesday. It didn't go well. Initially on the call he agreed with me about the RMS is still leaking, I had sent him my pics like I did on this thread (my first pictures). He continued to say that he did everything by the book (he didn’t) and that he wasn’t sure how he could help me further. At no time did he offer to pay me back on what I had paid him. I then told him that I would no longer be doing business with his shop, will take the Jeep elsewhere, and will post negative reviews. He exploded and then started berating me. I told him “good day” and disconnected the line. The conversation continued by text, and it didn’t get any better. He continued to berate me. I have not sent him the pictures yet of what the second shop took (the second set off pictures I just posted to this thread). I’m not sure I will send him the pics. Maybe It’s better if I just let it go. My blood pressure doesn’t need to be any higher than what it is.
Do you have a second repair order asking to inspect work previously done? If it goes to court the judge may want to see where you allowed the shop to inspect and fix the problem. I know in California you need to allow the shop to perform the warranty repairs.

I immediately found my Google review by typing "Beuks Auto Group" and clicking the Google review hyper link.

I took my vehicle to Beuks Auto Group to have the oil pan gasket and rear main engine seal replaced due to leaks. When I received the vehicle back oil leaks still occurred through the bell housing, and they didn’t put on the oil pan gasket correctly. The shop had used anaerobic gasket maker along with RTV to seal the oil pan. They had used both types of sealants on every square inch of the gasket. According to the shop manual, which I furnished to them, the location of RTV to only be placed on the corners of the gasket. The shop shouldn’t have ever used the anaerobic gasket maker for the gasket. It only dries with an absence of oxygen and the stuff that was squished out of the gasket would never cure.

I called the shop and explained that I sill have a leak and that the oil pan gasket was put on incorrectly. The vehicle went back to the shop and the shop stated that the rear main seal is no longer leaking, but the front transmission input seal is (why wasn’t that caught by the shop the first time-it’s in the same general area?). They replaced the front transmission input seal, rear main engine seal, and oil pan gasket.

I received the vehicle back and inspected it when I got home. The bell housing was leaking oil again. The oil pain gasket was put on again with an overload of RTV, way too much. If RTV gets loose in the oil pain it could clog up the oil pickup tube. This time I sent the shop pictures of the leak. When I spoke to the shop they said they did everything by the book (they clearly didn’t) and they didn’t know how to resolve this problem for me. At that point, I told them that they have lost my business, I would have the vehicle repaired elsewhere, and would write a poor review. The shop mechanic/manager then started berating me. I ended the phone call, but his berating continued via text. I have the text messages. He warned me that if I did post poor reviews, he would respond saying how terrible of a customer I was. Also, at no time did the shop offer to return my payment to me.

I contacted another shop, Frank’s Honest Auto, and explained the situation to them regarding the prior shop and poor repairs. The shop manager was polite and professional and gave me a very fair quote for the work. I dropped off the vehicle in the morning on the following day. I received a call several hours later from the manager. He stated that there was so much RTV that they would have to charge me additional work hours to clean it up. He stated that in no way should there been so much RTV used, and they didn’t place it properly on the oil pan gasket. He also stated that the not only is the rear main engine seal still leaking but the front transmission input seal is leaking too. He went on to say that when Beuks removed the original front transmission input seal they gauged the seating surface of the transmission trying to get the seal out. He said he hopes that they can get a new seal in without it leaking (see attached picture). I requested that he send me pictures of all the problems, he agreed. The manager agreed with me that the work completed by Beuks was poor.

Frank’s Honest Auto finished the job from start to finish in about 24 hours. Everything they did looks great and NO LEAKS!

My advice to stay away from Beuks Auto Group for any repairs. They are incompetent!

I had a shop screw me over royally a few years back. Overcharged, said they did work which they didn't and removed high dollar modifications and replaced with rough county brand. They also charged me 5,000 dollars for a new transfer case and said I needed a new SYE that would be am additional 800 dollars. Don't know how but they also screwed up my rear axle and it had to be regeared. They had my jeep from January till October of 2020.

In the end I got an extremely good lawyer and we took it to circuit court where I walked away with a nice chunk of money. Sometimes it's best to give them plenty of rope so they can hang themselves properly.

That has exactly zero to do with it. When I worked at the auto shop, there were several customers that would come in, get a lot of work done and then immediately cancel the check because they didn't have the money to pay for the repair. They didn't even bother to complain about the work. Boss took them to small claims and won every single time. It is automatically a win due to the defrauding BS.

It’s an old rule that was posted at Chief Auto Parts when my dad worked there in the 80’s. Different times, different measures. We understand the gist of it. I wish justice could be attained easier these days, as in the case of the OP. It goes both ways. I’m sure you’ve seen the recent phenomenon of a person running out of a retail store with merchandise. The employees can’t do anything to stop them. It’s happening in Spokane a lot. It’s ridiculous.

Weird! On my computer I can see the Google review. When I look it up on my phone I can't. Here's a screen shot that I just took of the review from my computer.

So the shop has the ability to delete reviews? I can't see the review either

I don’t think so. I very briefly looked into this for a client who had a whack employee posting BS negative reviews and Google refused to delete the post, saying that the owner could only post a reply.

To my knowledge a business can't remove Google reviews at will. I believe the business has to contact Google and give good reason why Google should remove the review. A poor review would not be justification for the removal. This also takes time, like many days or weeks to get a review removed.

From Google:
Submit an appeal.
In the new tab, fill out the form and submit. You'll receive an email with the verdict about your appeal. If the review is found to violate our policy, it'll be removed. If not, the review remains live and its status remains “Escalated - check your email for updates” in the Reviews Management Tool.

I still can't see yours, but I just put up a quick one of my own for kicks. See how long it lasts. Let me know if you want me to take it down.

I posted this review less than 24 hours ago. Maybe it needs time to post on Google. Although I'm not sure why I can see it on my computer. Maybe it's because I'm the author and it shows up on my Google review list that I can only see.

I can see Robert’s but not yours

It looks like Google just updated with my review. It now shows 35 reviews where before it showed 34. And they dropped a rating from 4.8 to 4.7 stars.

Edit: I'm mistaken. It's Robert's review. I still can't see mine from my phone. Really weird!

I think #35 was mine. I think you should re-post yours. I don't think it worked the first time, even though you can see it. We should all be able to see it instantly.
