Here ya go, @Wildman

1) Packing up the house and downsizing. Wow, ya, that's a thing... We went from 2400 square feet to 1400 square feet, to a 19' Airstream. Now we're back to a 27' Airstream.

It was a thing that involved a dumpster and three storage units at on point. It's tough. I finally decided that anything that it was cheaper to store than replace stayed, and everything else went. We have two sets of camping gear. Some cooking stuff. Bulk consumables. Outdoor gear like firearms, fishing gear, reloading gear and supplies. Clothing to change out with the seasons. Books. You can do it easily if your not married to stuff.

2} Garage / shop / someplace to work. That's a tough one. Last fall the wife and I rebuilt the ignition system on our Suburban in a County Campground. A lot of stuff you can do in place. some stuff you can borrow a buddies garage for a weekend. Anything bigger I use a favorite mechanics shop. It took awhile to find them, but it is worth it. I'm not as strong as I once was, and my fingers aren't a nimble anymore...so it works out for me. Besides, he lets me buy the parts if I want something particular.

Ask away on any other particular...we've been doing this for three years in a row now.

Wonderful campsite up in the Cascades. Had a talk with a Sheriff's Deputy about this spot. He was a very unhappy camper. Then we started talking about Jeeps (Blue was there. He owned a CJ-5) He ended up cutting us way more slack than he should have. Nice guy.

There's Blue. Got me out of a ton of trouble that trip.

Another spot up in the Cascades.

I know you're only a state away but give a holler if you're in WA. Be good to meet up.

This is my issue. I'd moved every 2-4 years of my life until I bought this house in Cle Elum. Been here 16 years now and I'm a pack rat.
I've got tons of military gear I'd need to filter through.
And I've got a pretty decent amount of tools and equipment that I'd need to figure out what to do with.
And I've got furniture that was my grandparents so like you I'd need to decide what goes or stays..
I bought a motorhome last year so I'm working towards the traveling faze of my life.

Nice trailers and beautiful camping spots. My wife and I picked up a "little" Class A motorhome a few years ago. Its 26 feet long. Its a bit of an adjustment being in that small of a space, but once you get used to it, you really start to wonder about why we have all this stuff! We take it on week+ long camping trips and spend most of our time outside. We use it to sleep in and hide out from inclimate weather. We're not living in it though...I wonder if we could?

Why not. The wife and I did the 19' for two years...through the covid lockdowns and all the craziness that followed. Give it a try, you might like it. it turned out to be way easier than we thought.

Were not full time but have a very small Class A and now the Jeep for a toad. I often thought if I were to go full time or even say 1/2 time I'd get a big diesel pusher, something old with a real bus chassis like a Prevost. Are you on Airforums? There's a few full timers over there, do you know Ray Eklund AKA the Human Bean?

Yup. Ray cracks me up. He DOES know what he's talking about when it comes to boondockiing in his area.

I bet you can guess my handle on airforums.

I dunno, something to do with sailing I'd guess but there are quite a few sailors over there.

Do you have kids? Nieces? Nephews? Maybe they would want your stuff...the family stuff. Mine didn't.

My daughter wants most of the stuff but she's still living at home. So it'd have to go into storage for the time being & with it being old wood stuff it's got to be in a climate controlled unit. $$$$$

Cle Elum isn't that far away. We'll keep in touch and drag @Squatch into it.

I'm HOPING my Jeep will be done soon so I can get out and enjoy some trails again. Sounds like a plan.

Ah that makes sense. When we first started looking for an RV one of the requirements was that is be low enough to fit in our garage and the Airstream fit the bill, but after a lot of research we decided it would be too hot for the Southwest where we spend a lot of our vacation time. We then looked at Bigfoot which also fit the bill, quality trailers although pretty plain and dated interiors. Then Covid came and out of the blue I started looking Sprinter based motorhomes, but all the C class ones we looked at were really expensive and cramped, plus most were too tall for the garage. The B classes were way too small and expensive as well but one day I spotted a Winnebago Via on the Sprinter chassis, a 25.5 foot class A with 2 slides, walk around queen bed and under 11 feet tall. It had been stored outdoors in Oregon and Arizona and although useable it needed cosmetic work, and a lot of TLC in the coach and chassis both, but with Covid in full swing I had nothing but time on my hands and I got it in like new shape. Now getting the toad ready, and added an oil cooler to the Sprinter for those long, steep desert grades. Planning to go up your way to visit my sis & BIL in Washington, so far our trips have only been under the 1,000 miles from home range.
As a side note I still have the 2002 F350 7.3 Powerstoke that I have kept in mint condition and was to be our tow vehicle, I can't bring myself to sell it, such a great truck. Maybe we will end up with a trailer someday anyway.
