North Carolina List of Carolinian off-roaders

Had anyone heard of the new trails at Uwharrie? Apparently they cut two more trails but don’t know the difficulty of them.

I hadn't heard that, but will be looking to see what I can find out.

Thanks for the info on the cargo rack. I may pick one up.

A buddy went out last night for a camping trip and tried the new trail. He said it’s an easy one with a few rock areas to mess around on but nothing to get too excited about.

**Update information for the lake view trail.
If anyone follows the Uwharrie mountain overland/offroad page in the FB, they have some videos of the new trail. It looks like there is a really tough rock section off to the side of the trail.

hi all, just got my first Jeep Wrangler about a month ago. It is my second 4x4 vehicle. I also have a Ford Ranger FX4. I am located in Morehead City, NC. There are some fun trails to wheel in the Croatan Forest. Anyone else down on the NC Coast?

Getting ready for uwharrie I see!
A gentleman never tells, lol. I had BM rotors and pads already but after the Windrock trip, one of my calipers was sticking causing burning and wearing down of my pads on one side. There was lots of mud out there annd I think it got into one of my caliper pistons. Instead of ordering more oem sized brakes, decided to go big. I shouldnt regret it

Do you have pictures from the Windrock trip?

My dad and I want to get out to Uwharrie sometime soon, but haven’t been there before. What are y’all’s recommendations for what we should do?

Neither of us have off-road experience with the exception of forest service trails up in the mountains. I’ve got 31s, no lift, no lockers. My dad has a stock jkur. I’m guessing that his Jeep will go quite a bit farther than mine will as of right now. (Hopefully that’ll change though in the future 😉)

We want something somewhat challenging, but nothing too crazy… definitely not looking to break anything. Thought I’d ask for some advice before going out there blindly
