Hi everyone I own a 2006 TJ with a couple of thousand clicks short of 100 k. I bought some halogen head lights but not sure if they have running lights or not . I did not want to get into the re-wiring so they do not have the halo. I purchased them from Amazon. Love the darker lenses. Would by chance anyone know if there is day time lights on them. Or a suggestion what to get? Thanks so much in advance.

I'm trying to help but need some clarity.

Halogen headlamps are standard for your tj do you mean you purchased led?

Is the daytime running light a Candian thing? Here in the states the headlamp are off or on hi or low.

I believe DRLs are a Canadian requirement. I know I've seen references in the FSM but Ive never touched a Canadian TJ so I don't know exactly how it works or how it's wired.

My jeep is a Canadian import to the US. The DRLs don't play well with LEDs. I had a few days of head scratching figuring out the wiring when I installed mine. I ended up cutting the drl wire, so now with my LEDs, I don't have DRLs but my hi and lo beams work as they should.

That said, if you bought halogens, they should be pretty much plug-and-play.

I have the led Amazon truck lights and the DRL works. Think it like highbeam.

Same lights I have! My DRLs only worked about 80% of the time. And if I disconnected the DRL module, the hi-beam indicator on the dash wouldn't work.

Interesting that yours works as intended! I wish mine did, but I don't have a need for the DRLs, so I guess it worked out OK for me.🤣

I have run the cheap Amazon LEDs and then upgraded to JW Speakers, both with DRL. Neither had any issues. At first I had a bad flicker when the lights were in daytime mode but it ended up being a corroded connection.

A lot of people are confusing "DRL" on LED lights, where they have a ring etc, and DRLs for Canada, which is a Canadian federal requirement and is not going to be relying on the bulb but a module for the DRLs.
That said, a halogen light replacing a halogen light should work as designed

The halogens should plug in and work the same as OEM.

Thanks for everyone’s input , I did return the ones I had and got just a standard bright White. Here in Canada just a stone’s throw away from Blaine Washington, we have to have our head lights come on without having to turn them on for Day time driving.

When I first got my 2000 TJ the DRL didn't work. I got a DRL module from Rock Auto and all has been good since. If your DRL worked with the stock lights ,it should work with any light that has the correct plug type. I have heard where the plug polarity was backwards for the LED light but correct for the stock light, if that was the case it would be a simple matter of just swapping the plug power/ground wires.
