Larger amplifier custom stereo builds

I too mounted a 4 ch amp under the steering wheel and mono amp in the center console where the stock sub was and still have full functioning console.
I would not run a class Ab amp in the console, better with a class d, less heat.

I made brackets for the steering amp and the console amp which bolts down with 3/8" bolts and nutserts.
My incentive is to keep them hidden from prying eyes. The 4 ch powers the fronts and pods. The mono runs two small parameter 10's in a little box bolted to the floor behind front seats and fires into and under the seats.
I don't run a passenger seat... 2 Akitas ride in the back.

Now that Im NOT doin a console sub, I may just conceal the amp inside the old factory sub location inside the console. Obviously fab up some rubberized / cushioned mounts

Its a simple thing to remove to gain access and keeps it concealed. I dunno, still bouncing ideas around. Im gonna try the Marine grade Rockville Phenom amp

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01GCJ50JI?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image

This car isnt gonna need super hifi equipment, and I read alot of good reviews on the Phenom amps. I was gonna put an 8” self powered Rockville sub under the front seat but now Im sending that and rhe Kicker back in favor of the 10” self powered

I think this ones too big for concealment under rear seat, but Im not worried bein only $150

8.6”x2”x13.7” would easily fit under the rear seat. Maybe I should add that I remove the zipped and velcro’d piece under the rear seat.

Also, I’ve seen, but never done myself, a box built into the rear seat firing down. 🤷‍♂️

why a 5 channel amp? if the size and stealing factor is a problem...

you can hook up two soundstreams class D under the rear seat (my current set up, even with an epicenter) one SS PN.1000 4 channels for the speakers and one SS PN.1000 1 channel for the subs... my current set up is pretty loud and clear...

all the speakers are powered by a Soundstream Nano PN.1000 4 channels which is fixed under the rear seat and the subs are powered by another amp (cheap one, you could just get the soundstream nano PN.1000 1 channel) and you will have enough juice to power everything without compromising a lot of space in your jeep... it sounds amazing.. (oh.. I have an epicenter as well... for the bass improvement)

Where can I find 6x9 boxes for a Wrangler??
System sounds GREAT!!!!

Ive changed my mind, and Im doing a 4ch A/B for the main speakers and a 10” powered sub.

How do you feel about the roll bar speakers VS 6x9 sound from the drivers seat?? Those are some badass 6x9s

bought some 6X9 boxes a few years ago on ebay.

Maybe I’m slow, but what is the reasoning for having a 4 channel amp + a 1 channel amp to power 5 speakers rather than just a single 5 channel amp?

the boxes were custom made (they were like 25 bucks for the pair here in Mexico haha) I would still recommend you some Class D amps for the size but its your choice, the roll bar speakers vs 6x9? well.. I have both so I can't compare them one against the other, (but 6x9's will always sound better than a 6.5s), not sure if you already mentioned it... but I would suggest to add the 6.5s in the roll bar instead of the original 5.25s, they'll fit without an issue..

the 5 channel amp will give you some power for the speakers and some power for the subs... usually 60 watts RMS x 4 speakers/channels at 4ohms + 250 watts RMS x 1 sub/channel

if you get a small decent amp of 4 channels they will deliver at least 100 watts RMS x 4 speakers/channels at 4 ohms and a decent small amp for the sub will give you 400 watts RMS x 1 sub/channel..

so to answer your question, a 5 channel amp is cheaper and more space-saving but wont give you the juice you could get for two amps with a not-so-different price tag for one 5 channel vs two separate amps (one 4 channel and one 1 channel)

How did you wire that all up across the six speakers? Are the sound pods/tweeters and 6x9s wired in series and receiving the same signal from the amp?

the dash 5.25s polk audios and 6.5s roll bars mid range speakers are wired on parallel in 2 channels, the 6x9s are wired to each channel since they need more juice... the reason why I got the polk audios in the front is because they can handle some good power (100 watts RMS) and I wont be starving the mid range speakers (which handle 150 watts RMS) for lack of juice by trying to avoid damaging the dash speakers while setting up the gain....

For the guy askin , why 5 channel amps
Its for 4 stereo speakers and 1 sub woofer
I could explain more about Ohms and more speakers but that will just confuse ya

I changed my plan to a
4ch Class D to drive 4 speaker
10” sub powered by a built in amp

Im returning both class A/B amps
Theyre outdated tech these days I guess

Yeah I havent put a stereo together since Class D amps were primarily for subs. Seems timea have changed, and Class D is better and smaller. So I ordered that Soundstream and a Rockville Class D to compare.

Seems the Soundstream is not sold much anymore and not many YT videos. So Im a wee hit leary. I ordered one 2 years ago for my Victory Magnum motorcycle stereo but sent it back. Cant remember why

It may have been the size.
I ended up with an Arc Audio 750w
