Antifreeze boiling

AS much as I'd like Mopar I don't have the time for it to ship so I can go to work so I'm going with NAPA since most of my parts that i get are usually from them and I have good luck with them. Plus easier to warranty out if needed. Once I recover from this I will be on the look out for a Mopar one to throw up on the shelf for later if needed also.

It's on the pricier side but napa does carry a Denso that might be a better bet if you're stuck with aftermarket. Napa's house brand is made by APDI, I wasn't impressed with their heater core and wouldn't have high hopes for the radiator.

NAPA's best/premium radiator is your best bet for your immediate needs. I'd go there too if I needed it urgently.

Thanks for catching that, I meant Mishimoto. All them Japanese words sound alike to me lol.

Japanese Denso makes Jeep alternators. Mine at least. Mishimoto should never be compared to Tanaka. Tanaka wins every time for quality Japanese craftsmanship in my book. 🤫Who knew?

I've never heard of that radiator brand, do they make toothbrushes too? 🤣

Please let us know how that radiator works out for you by leaving some reviews over time whether good or bad in this thread, or start a new one.

I definitely will. It looks good right now and visually inspecting it. It did though come in a NAPA box so it is something that they are making for them.

Mine blew kinda like that, only much worse. It split form the cap port to the top hose nipple and I could see the radiator tubes through the HUGE fracture.

I have no personal worries about an aftermarket radiator. I installed a Murray brand from the local parts house 3 years ago and it's worked fine through our 110+ summer temps. It has a lifetime warranty so if something does go wrong it's easy to get a replacement from the store around the corner.

So, so far observations are it has less number of tubes vs factory. Had to use some 10-32 bolts instead of the sheet metal screws due to having a regular nut on it. Other than that it seems fine. I flushed it to try to get any manufacturing debris out of it. It installed fine fan seems centered. Filled it up and ran it at idle for a few mins then kicked it up to 2000-2400RPM until tstat opened up. Left it there and just with it sitting under the carport it only got to 210 with the a/c running full blast. It seemed to stabilize around 208 with out a/c which is how I usually run it.

Once it shut off Temps spiked to 228.3 and after about 10 mins after spike it started dropping. You can see what my current weather looks like also for comparison.

I'll report back after I driven it for a couple weeks.

We installed a new Denso Rad in the project Jeep yesterday that replaced a pos. For starters it's not made in china (Indonesian) and weighed quite a bit more than the pos and the overall feel seems like quality. Let you know in a few years.

Thanks for the report. I'd be interested to know what the temp rises to with AC on while idling for 10 min or so.

Well new issue. Thinking cats are getting clogged. Ultimate lack of power going over small hills. Go from 70 to 55 in less than a mile roughly trying to go over small hills here. Larger hill had me going all the way to 4th and foot to the floor only getting to 50. Got a back pressure guage coming to see what it reads an go from there. O2 reading seem to show one bank running richer than the other.

You can try popping the upstream sensors out for a test drive, should confirm that.
