Penetrating oil comparison results

Interestingly enough, we use Kroil in the electrical worker industry religiously.
I never once took the time to see how much a can was......but wow.

Good info, thanks for sharing.
I keep acetone on hand and I'm gonna try the ATF / Acetone mix now.

It not being in the stores is reason #1 why I've never tried Kroil. $35 a can is reason #2.
Home Depot doesn't carry it or even Liquid Wrench because they push that PB-Blaster shit. But either can be found in most other well equipped auto parts stores or hardware stores.

Store? What's this Store you speak of?
Seriously though, if you have a Fastenal or Grainger near you, they usually have it.

Correct
Grainger caters to the Industrial market

You wont find alot of things sold at Grainger in local Ace Hardware or other home user oriented retail stores, and vice versa

We have both, but neither are remotely convenient to my side of the DFW suburbs. I've never even been in one. Good to know I can spend $35 there. ;)

Maybe it's my spray bottle, but mine slowly dribbles out over time and will leave a puddle whenever the bottle sits. I figured the vaporization of the acetone was pressurizing the bottle and pushing it up through the straw but maybe not. I just mix up small batches so I use it all up quickly and don't have to store a partial bottle.

I use one of these for brakleen that I buy by the gallon. It’d probably work for any of those atf mixtures too.

If it absolutely matters inside our transmissions, why would you so freely dismiss it having any impact here?

My rusted bolts specifically require ATF+4.

Seriously though, @Jerry Bransford I’d be interested in learning what common characteristic makes it so that any ATF works equally as well as another.

There used to be this stuff made by permatex called Solvo-Rust.

It worked really well. Don’t know what happened to it.

I was given a case of PB blaster several years ago. I still have 11-3/4 cans left if anybody want them.

Willing to send any over? I'd pay for shipping
