Cars I remember and were thrilled with when I saw them for the first time when I was a kid.
Does this happen to kids today ?

No, I don't think so. While I personally know kids who do light up for various cars, I think they're the minority now. It seems like today's teens are a hard split if they even care to drive. :(

Unfortunately I Agree , I was a little gearhead at 8 and 10 yrs. old when these Camaros were new.
and now teens are too comfortable` with mooching off their parents to take them places.
I guess things change and the latest generation are being molded in school and social media to be freaking bus riders. Damn shame.

Okay, I know this is a video, but the I've always appreciated her singing voice, and the lyrics are the best! Hope you'll take the time to listen. The line about the Chevelle is hilarious. And yes, there are all kinds of inaccuracies in the video. Homey don't care! ;)

Gasser or not?

this is the first time I noticed that front axle and it ran on gasoline at least early on, maybe still, so I figured I'd ask.

And what the heck, I may as well ask about it's relative too.

That's a good question, and one I've never actually thought about. As for me, I've never considered them to be a gasser. I've always known them to be referred to as "exhibition cars", with their sole purpose being performing extended wheel stands/wheelies (though the very first HUG was built as a competition car, they soon discovered it couldn't keep its frontend down, and the rest is history).

Other exhibition cars (though they could never be confused with gassers) were the Hurst Hairy Olds...
