North Carolina List of Carolinian off-roaders

Tom @MountaineerTom , Austin @Austin O. and I have been talking about Brown Mountain OHV trail on another thread, but none of us have been, so I thought I’d bring this topic up here to see if anyone here has been.

Tom provided this map. It looks like 4WD trail 1 is the only trail that can be ridden with a Jeep or truck, but that's about all we know.

been there multiple times, is majority dirt bike and ate trails, but trails 1 and 8 are open to 4x4s and they are pretty fun, I prefer them to any trail at Uwharrie except for the Daniel and Dickey bell. They are way less "roadish" then the easy ones at Uwharrie, the ones at Uwharrie are like dirt roads until you reach "the obstacle" or two. The brown mountain trails are actually trails

the fun at URE is when it rains. that’s when the trails actually hit their ratings. otherwise. they are just clay roads

Good morning Caroliners!! My cousin just bought a jeep jk and is having some vibration issues. She lives in the Raleigh/Wake Forest area. I need some shop recommendations for her. Where do I send her? Thanks in advance

Unfortunately I don't have any recommendations since I'm my own shop. I use bayleaf service center but only to get inspections and balance tires.

I’m headed to Uwharrie Monday (9 Oct) if anyone want to meet. I plan to be at the Outpost around 11:00 or 12:00.

Was extra dusty yesterday, but rained overnight a little and settled some of the dirt. Let my sown take the wheel on some of the easier trails, and he did well for being a 1st time and driving manual. Was a good time though and not too packed. Didn’t get a chance to night wheel though. Maybe next time.

The last few times I've been it's been very dry and dusty. Too dusty. I forget, how old is your son, and does he like the outdoors stuff?

He’s 15. Umm, good question lol. I’m trying to get him more outdoors and 4wheel as I’m looking for him an XJ, TJ, or something to work on and moderately build. I figured that’d be a way to get him more out and about with me. Gives me someone to go with too lol

Hopefully he likes to get out. I see far too many kids and teenagers nowadays who rarely come outside. My kids don't like being inside for long, or they start looking for trouble.

I remember you mentioned that you wanted to find a Jeep for him. I do a lot of driving and come across some now and then. If you tell me a price range and what you’re looking for, I'll keep an eye out. I came across this one nearby (Mocksville) last week.

It seems a little high $ to me, but maybe I'm just too tight. :sneaky:
