Just received my high clearance skid plate RC 1126 ( 2.5 inch drop )
Seems like Ill have to raise my motor mounts to keep a certain geometry
Is there any different thickness recommanded
Will I have to put a body lift also ?
Thanks
Dan

I am obviously missing something..it looks like a drop skid to me so how do they advertise it as more clearance than a stock skid? Can someone please help me lol
Not sure why anyone is talking about a drop.
Site:
Put the shovel to rest with Rough Country's new High Clearance Skid Plate. Made from heavy-duty quarter Inch steel, this super tough belly pan protects the underside of your vehicle from off-road hazards.

With its innovative design the skid plate sits snug to the vehicle, avoiding hang-ups your factory plate can't and allowing an additional 2in of clearance. The pronounced lip traverses rocks and dirt with ease.

I realize what the RC site says but I'm looking at pictures online and I don't see where they are getting the statement of offering more clearance than stock. It doesn't really matter since it wasn't the OPs original question

Are you thinking a straight flat plate is stock? The stock location of the trans mount is about 4" below the frame rail, this skid gets the trans pushed up 2".

I'm well aware of the shape an oem skid has and have attached a side pic of one. I don't think I am processing the pictures properly. The way my brain sees the rough country skid it would appear to hang lower than an Oem skid. I'm looking at the rough country lettering that is cut out of the sides and thinking those letters must be a couple inches tall right?

Anyways I'm sure it's just me being dumb or not looking at things right. Let's try to help the OP with his questions

Remember, the 03 and up skid plate hung lower than the 02 and older. Is that a photo of the newer stock skid plate or the 97-02?

I just grabbed it off the interwebz and didn't even pay attention. I wonder how much lower the 03 up skid hung lower hwn the 02 back?

The most irritating part of the 03-06 skid was the giant lip that hung down on both ends that hooked and grabbed everything. Getting rid of just that is a significant improvement.
