So, about an hour ago, I went for a bicycle ride on the Centennial Trail near where I live. Came across a gentleman who was just pulling out his re-creation of the 1909 Modet T speedster that won the New York to Seattle race in 1909.Here are some pics...
Steve, the gentleman who built and owns this, offered to take me for a ride in it. He had just installed a 2-speed Ruckstell rear axle in it, and wanted to test it out. Of course I accepted, and we went for about a 2-mile ride. Talk about an attention getter! Little kids, moms pushing strollers, and folks in other vehicles were all smiles. Waves, horn-honking, and thumbs-up everywhere. What a hoot! I actually took a few short videos, one being of the ride along, but I can't figure out how to load them. Hope to figure it out, and post 'em soon.
