Winter driving

We had snow this week too, Jeep designed the perfect donut maker. Throw her in 2wd & let it rip...

Winter driving for my job was originally why I bought my first Jeep. I didn't want to get stuck at 2am, 30 miles from home. It came in handy years ago when we got 3' of snow. I miss deep snow. We got a crap 3" of snow the other day and 1" last night. :(

Wow, you got more today? We had a couple of flurries, that's it.

We got more than expected, 5 inches Tuesday and still snowing today at the moment and 4-5 out there fresh. Pier was bare wood last night and i made a path out there today at 9ish. Glad to get some just hate the salt crap on the roads.

I started using studded winter tires on my TJ last winter. No more sliding around on icy pavement.

We have gotten 3~4 " every other day for a week now including today. when its bitter cold nobody wants to clean it up. A slow accumulation that turns into a problem. I couldn't get my pickup to go up the driveway today.

Locally, I've already seen 3 wrecked Jeeps on Facebook.
And we didn't even get that bad of weather. 😞

I know our area we get way less snow than when I was much younger. Not sure how much experience the young drivers actually get these days. It a Jeep 4x4 and many might think you can drive like a dry road.

These were just down the road from my house. I had to drive past them to get home.

I took the pictures after I drove past them. They tried going down the mountain I live on. I stopped on my way up the mountain to take them.

People were just parking their cars or trucks and just walking away I guess. In total there were 5 tractor trailers and probably 15 cars.

Looks like a lot of ice on the road, not real easy to drive on ice and maybe not many used to snow that far south. Be safe

The road was solid ice when I drove up the mountain.

We get snow/ice almost every year here. I grew up in the south, but cut my snow/ice driving teeth in Indiana with just a 2 wheel drive car at 16.

The problem we had was folks, tractor trailer and cars not from around here, following their phone GPS because the interstate was a grid lock. Not knowing where they were going till it was to late.

@John Cooper , it has been a mess over here all week. I have 2 Jeeps, and have stayed at home all week to avoid the idiots on ice. Had to go to store on Wednesday, and there were two semis stuck on hwy 72 eastbound out of Huntsville… too much ice for them to make it up the hill.
