PRP Daily Driver Seats

I recently got the Daily Drivers, mine just look like the reverse of Jerry’s color scheme.

I find the seat very comfortable, on my back and on my butt. I can see why some people do not like them for a daily driver seat. I no longer daily drive my jeep, it’s just my wheeler/toy. With the additional bolster it a little more work to get up and in them. It doesn’t bother me, but if I was daily driving I’m sure it would.

I love the support the seats give me, I feel way more secure in them off road. I personally would not recommend them for daily driving, having to get in and out of them all day long would get pretty old pretty quick I think.

I didn’t have any serious fitment issues. Other than the reclining lever hitting the door cubby if I slide the seat forward, they fit well. I can accept that the seat back touches the roll bar padding, because the seat still reclines. The other side also touches the console lid, but I can still open it.

same exact with me, touches the roll bar on the driver side but I have a harness bar behind the seat too so mine stays in the position it's in. The reclining lever has no room between the lever and door but not an issue.
on the passenger side it touches the console lid but non issue for me. It only worries me that it might rip the seat over time. Might drill the hole and try to center the console a little better.

@johmbie let us know if they're wide, that's the only thing I can think of, or the rails maybe not being all the way over.

I have the Summit Series Enduro Elite PRP seats.

Blaine hates them (he installed them in my TJ) but I really love these things. So comfortable, supportive, and on long trips they've been an absolute joy to sit in.

Couldn't wait, wife and I both like the all grey (thinking it wont show dust as bad as black) so I went ahead and ordered the pair today along with the mounting brackets. Email confirmation says 4 weeks out, delayed shipping was another reason I went ahead and ordered without samples. I usually try and go camping around my birthday at the end of may and it would be killer to have new seats by then.

Did the Daily Driver seat require alterations to the interior or were they a good fit with the PRP mounts? I have a 2001 TJ and am worried about the extra wide base.

They fit perfectly. I did order their extra-wide model Daily Driver for the passenger side, I figured who knows who would be riding in it, and it only has a slight rub against the center console that doesn't cause any other issues.

Great; I am having a bit of trouble figuring out if PRP offers an Extra Wide DD model or are they all extra wide? I am looking at the Daily Driver High Suspension seat for my 2001 TJ which seems to note that alteration may be required to fit in with the center console. Do you think I would be okay to purchase both driver and passenger side seats and just add the mounts without a headache of modifications? Thanks In advance!

Yes the DD comes in an extra-wide version as I mentioned I installed into my passenger-side. Having both as extra-wide will cause more difficulty opening the console lid but it doesn't make it impossible. No problem with the door against my extra-wide passenger side.

tell us you're into fat chicks without telling us you're into fat chicks.

How does the height compare to stock? Is your butt at the same height as stock? Also the Daily Driver seat backs look to be reclined a bit. Does that bother anyone?

That's why I didn't go with fixed back seats, I like to sit pretty upright. Better for my back on long drives and I like the visibility.

This isn't necessarily relevant to the DD seats but I got some of the reclining base level Enduros and lined them up side by side to show the height difference recently. Just additional info for anybody shopping around

Thanks for the info!

I'm looking at the PRP daily driver and had a couple of questions. In my 2002, will I be able to run the stock seat belts without modification?
I don't plan on running 4 or 5 point harnesses right off the bat but I'd like the seat to be set up if I change in the future. Where should the belt slots land relative to my shoulders? How do people set these up for the driver and passenger if they are different heights? I will most likely be taller than the people riding with me.

Yes I went with the carbon fiber black vinyl. I love the look of it and would do it again however the vinyl is pretty easy to damage. If anything sharp rubs up against it, it can tear or cause holes. I've been pretty luck so far except for one of the corners where the seat frame pokes through a little. I also used Graphite Grey Tweed for my seat centers, Italia stitching, seat pockets, and 2" extra tall.

Glad to see this post an pics, was really wanting to find rear bench with headrest. You went with 2" taller seats, how tall are you and does the harness opening set above or below the top of your shoulders?

I'm running the stock seat belts for now on my 05 with the reclining daily driver seats. But I wanted to be able to run a single harness bar with harness in the future if I chose to.

I am 5'11". My wife is 5'2". I went with the 2" extra tall seat for me, and the standard for her. I shimmed her seat higher and that gets them pretty close. Her feet still sit flat on the floor, just.

There's still a difference so it's something I'd have to evaluate and adjust when the time comes. But that's the answer imo. Combo of seat sizes and risers. I do feel like the PRP seats run small in terms of height but it could just be I have a long torso. The round of the back of my head is even with the top of a standard sized daily driver recliner, if not just a bit above. I don't want to pretend to be the expert on something as important as the setup of safety equipment, but I'd want to err towards the side of higher harness and larger seat than the other way around, as a shoulder harness angled downward towards the rear can cause spinal compression in an impact. Kind of not possible to truly set it up properly for everybody.

btw the passenger seat looks like it's leaning in the picture but it's just the fabric, I think the way it was shipped it was sort of twisting the fabric. I've been working it back straight and it's been getting better.
