Damage from driving in 4 low?

I am fearful that him driving it in 4 Low caused some bigger issues.
Highly and very unlikely. New or clueless TJ owners often drive in 4Lo in conditions where they shouldn't like on pavement but it very seldom does any damage.

The TJ has a known history of bad oil pressure senders causing the oil pressure gauge to stop reading or be grossly inaccurate. I'd simply replace the oil pressure with a good brand replacement, avoid cheap store brands like Duralast.

I doubt he hurt the motor but I would probably hurt the kid.

As I’m saying that I think of one of the stunts I pulled when I was about 17.

A buddy and myself drove his parents new rental 79 Bronco , ( 400 M , C-6 , NP - 203 ) in full time 4X4 Low. As stupid kids do , we did this over and over one night on the town. A causal observation of kid fuckery was a 79 Bronco tops out at 47 m.p.h in low range , a 400 M is not a revver , and a stock C-6 shifts brutally in WOT , low range stunts.

The bronco was fine when they returned it , and got their truly lame ass new 78 Subaru wagon back from warranty work for lifting a head at 4700 miles.

I’m amazed at how happy and stupid I was at the same time.

Sort of wish I could go back.

If I could go back to 1970 knowing what I know now I'd be a much happier man. 😍🤣

Can you imagine how dangerous we could all be- life is a hard school- it gives the tests first and the lessons later.
