I found a nice TJ but it’s clear across the country from me. Originally I was thinking of flying out to get it and driving back but I don’t have time. I contacted what I thought was a shipping company but immediately got blasted with calls and texts from tons of people. Separate from all that I contacted a company that was recommended on another forum. Their quote came in at $1900 which makes the deal financially unfeasable. Does anyone know a trustworthy shipper with good prices I could try? Thank you.

If you arent comfortable at 1900 don't waste any more time shopping. That number is actually really cheap. I can say from experience if you are looking for a good deal shipping across the country will spoil that quickly.

That is what I figured. I just needed confirmation. To clarify it’s from Colorado to Florida. I did get another quote for $1,275 buts it prepaid. Not sure I’m comfortable with that. Thanks for feedback.

I second this.

I've had more vehicles shipped across the country than I can remember. Pre-COVID the prices were much, much better. Post-COVID, that $1900 is actually reasonable.

On another note, I love whenever one of these shipping threads pops up. They seem to drag all the bots and spammers out of the wood works and then every few months in perpetuity I get spammers who respond to these threads with links to their shipping companies. It's like a game of whack-a-mole.

Plenty of WTF members in Colorado...sure someone has a parking spot for a Jeep for a couple of months. Just don't let @hosejockey61 drive it...he likes rolling Jeeps. =)

That’s an option I never thought of! Anyone near Estes Park? My dad lives in Boulder but he is getting up in age and lives in a condo that’s very restrictive

Sorry! Hope I don’t create issues for you guys. 😬

Have you tried UShip? You’ll have to creat a basic account but you’ll get multiple quotes from private and large corporations.

I tried something similar to uship and got blasted by calls, texts, and quotes. Some of which were $600. I know that is impossible. Not sure I want to start that process up again. I did reach out to individual companies which were recommended on another forum and got seemingly legitimate quotes. One for $1,895 and another for $1,295 (prepaid). I think I’ll stick with jeeps closer to me. I keep finding them but difficult to find goods ones that aren’t ridiculously overpriced.

I shipped my old CJ to Florida 25 years ago and it was $600 then. I would think that $1900 price isn't bad.

I do not have any storage space at my place, just ask my wife lol.

My Dad’s friends company uses uship all the time to ship their heavy equipment. I’ve never personally used them but I completely understand your thought process. My grandparents always have their cars shipped from here in Denver to Scottsdale and back again (darn snowbirds) but I think they said they pay $1500.00 for both. Maybe it’s a buy on get one deal, or the fact they’ve been doing it for years from the same company? I could always ask if you’d like. But 1500.00-2000.00 sounds about the going price.

I think you’re right that $1500-$2000 is the going rate. I don’t think that is unreasonable but in my situation it doesn’t make sense. That’s 12% of the value of the vehicle. If I was looking at a 50k vehicle it would make sense and I could justify it.

There's nothing closer that meets your criteria?

There are some options but I am searching for a 2003-2004 Rubicon with 5 speed. I have opened up my search to include non Rubicon which has helped a lot.

Gilbert Jeeps, Athens,Al
has this 5 speed - 60,000 miles, pricey but nice as they come
