Had coworkers over from one of our Norwegian facilities once and they were explaining about how there are more Norwegian people in Minnesota than there are in Norway. I'm an unfortunate transplant so I'll take him at his word since Norwegian's know everything.
I am 50% Norwegian and raised in North Dakota.
So then you know what I'm talking about
...Norwegian's know everything.
I am 50% Norwegian and raised in North Dakota.
One great thing about the Scandinavians that settled that area is they do leave trash or junk on their property. I noticed this when working in Grand Forks ND. Nice people.
I think that's more about the rural nature of the area, rather than the ancestral origins of the settlers. There are two reasons rural folks kept junk around. 1) there is no trash service, and 2) it's a long way to a store, so you learn to improvise when you're in a bind. My junk pile has saved me more times than I can remember!
