So I put the JB Conversions Super Short SYE on my 05.

Worked, have a SpeedoHealer that adjusted it to my 35’s.

Speedometer stopped working, disconnected SpeedoHealer and went direct from sensor to harness, and still nothing. I know it would be “off” due to 35’s, but should not be zero.

So it’s not the SpeedoHealer
I just pulled the drive shaft and torqued to 200 ft LBs again to check, it was good.

Still nothing.

I also have a Traildash OBDII it’s showing zero, so it’s not the dash speedometer that’s the problem.

My last two thoughts are sensor itself is bad, or something else way wrong?

Anyone had this?

Summary, it worked, then just quit, not wonky or intermittent, just stopped working

Are you getting power to the sensor? Three wires: +5V, GND, sensor signal. If you're getting +5V down there, it's probably a bad sensor (or PCM). If not, chase the power problem down.

Well, that would have been smart to check, ha. On it after it cools down, it’s 80 and sunny, gotta get out and drive before it’s 105 again, ha.

My sensor in the JB SSYE died after about 500 miles. From Napa get ECH CSS1159. It's the same sensor and has been working fine for me.

And yeah, mine just died. No speed at all.

Much appreciated. I’ve got an email into JB to get an opinion, and if the power checks I’ll be getting one of these, unless JB shoots me one under warranty.

After knowing the Yoke Nut is right, I was thinking this sensor may be the issue. I hope so, anything else will be much worse

Did you install the washer “under” the sensor? Or on top under the bolt head? It has to go “under” to position the sensor correctly. It’s an odd place to put a washer IMO.

I had to get another sensor from JB. I think they were known to have issues, but that was several years ago.

Same issue. I bought the kit like a year ago and installed it maybe 6 months ago. Sensor quit after a few months. They sent me a new one quickly no questions asked which I appreciate. I replaced it in the mean time with a Standard sensor in the meantime so that's a spare now.

I’ll need to look. JB responded on a Sunday, said they’d send a reolacement.

They don’t manufacture the sensor, so not on them, and they are a stand up Org for sending a new one. Their SS SYE is super solid, much appreciated.

On their website, they have the sensor with the washer under the bolt and over the sensor. Are you saying it shouldn’t be like that?

I tried to find what you’re looking at on their website. I couldn’t find it. Do whatever they say. I just remember having the conversation with him about the washer location on the phone. The purpose of the washer being underneath the sensors was so the sensors depth was not too far in relative to the tone ring, but that was 4 yrs ago.

This is the pic on the back end of the SS SYE on their site. Sorry, I hear you, I’ll follow their directions, but I thought I had etc. if the replacment isn’t the fix I’ll get a pic to them and ask if I’ve got it wrong.

I’m thought that the sensor was installed in the cover when I got it, but I’m not 100%.

The gold part under the bolt head is a sleeve built onto the sensor. you can see it on both sides. Mine also came with a small silver washer that was supposed to be placed between the sensor and the TCase rear housing for positioning the sensor at the proper depth for the tone ring.

On the one in the pic it has a bent tab on the upper edge that may accomplish the same purpose. Mine does not have that bent tab, so ignore what I say if yours does.

JB got me a new sensor, put it on, and it's all working again.

I will say, a SpeedoHealer works. Gets it all fixed, easy to install. But...the interface and programming is total nonsense. It would have been confusing in 1991, ugh.
