A new relay came with the LED taillights and the problem seems to have been fixed.

Yes, the relay fixes the fast flashing issues. I had to put the relay in mine as well.

I would like to replace my turn signals with LED's but I've heard they cause the blinkers to act funny. Will they work properly now that I have a blinker relay that's designed for LED's?

You'll need to change the wiring on the front and side turn signals to get LEDs to work correctly and it's not resolved because of the new relay. Because incandescents don't care which direction current flows and how Jeep uses a floating ground for these blinkers you'll need to modify the wiring to get them to work as expected. If you just throw LEDs in place of your current bulbs you'll get a few anomalies . . .

1) With headlights off - front and side blinkers are synchronized as opposed to alternating but at full brightness
2) With headlights on - front blinkers will be at full brightness and side blinkers will be extremely dim
3) And I'm not sure if this is specific to me but there is a light glow to the turn signal indicators on my instrument gauge.

So I can replace the front turn signal and keep and incandescent side marker and it should work right?

Yes, this worked for me. I have LED front turn signal and LED rears, but I kept the side markers as the factory incandescent.
