Anyone had an issue with lower radiator hose fitting? Here is the deal. I have a 1999 wrangler 4.0. I just replaced the water pump with a factory pump. New thermostat etc. I do have a Griffin aluminum radiator but have had it for years I’ve never had a hose issue though. Went to put new hoses on and the upper went on perfect. But the lower one listed at three different parts stores is about 4-5” longer than my old hose. Roughly the same shape though. The old one was cut off so not reusable and no numbers found on it. If I cut the new one to the correct length it looses the last bend and would partially kink. The only other hose option I see is for a right hand drive model. I ordered it but it won’t be here till Monday. I thought they just gave me the wrong part but I went to two different stores and they pulled same shaped hoses. Seems orielly’s, advance and Napa show the same hose from 1997-2006. Was there any different versions and if so do you have a part number by chance.

Was able to get the correct hose from a car quest by taking in my old hose.

Sometimes the aftermarket hose mfg make a hose that will fit multiple applications and it is necessary to cut the hose for some of the applications, while the extra length is needed for other applications.

I have the long hose in my garage and had planned on changing it this weekend but like you, I noticed it is too long. Can you share the Part # of the one you got at Car Quest?

I saw a post earlier and I wish I could remember who it was (to give credit where credit is due). I had the same issue. Hose was too long and molded incorrectly. Come to find out, the radiator original to my TJ had the lower radiator connection in the center of the radiator. However, at some point, and aftermarket radiator was installed with the connection on the bottom left (driver side). Long story longer, although I have a left hand drive TJ, the correct hose to fit this radiator is for a right hand drive. Buy a Gates 22283 or equivalent and it will fit perfectly.
