Another Tracer build

Snags to work through.
At full bump.... when the pitman arm hits the diff and the track bar hits the harmonic balancer, there is still 1.5" of shock shaft showing. Looking like I'll be bending the track bar or making a new one. We spent a bunch of time moving things around. If we pull it off the crank, it hits the steering. A motor mount lift could come into play but we aren't putting a body lift on and that won't move the pitman arm up.

Of course I can just set the bumpstop cans to compensate but 1.5" is 1.5" on a rig that'll be sitting at ride height with about 5" of shaft showing.

Is it ever an option on a build to move a steering box forward towards the grill when focusing on uptravel?

Any pros and cons to this thought process?

It's in the 5" range already with the stock box position.

I thought the tracer builds used the twisted pitman from genright? Seems like twisted pitman would get you where you need to be?

Is that a load bolt on the front? How much clearance do you set for load bolt to ring gear?

Currently waiting for a replacement track bar that will clear the 4.0 Harmonic balancer and missing bump cans. I was told they were aware of the trackbar issue and are promptly taking care of it.

Of course I could have built one myself, or moved the trackbar axle bracket from the position given by genright and bent the drag link to clear it at full lock, but the owner says "why? I paid for an engineered kit that is supposed to fit". Bending the drag link also eliminates the need for the frame notch had that route been taken.
We just moved on to some jk builds I've got on the schedule and are cutting parts for a jeepwest mid arm going on an lj that'll be getting jk axles, daddy long legs stretch armor, rockers and poison spyder highlines running on 40's I'll post a thread on that in the coming weeks as it gets rolling.

Jk front adjustable 3link long arms and jeepwest jk rear geometry correction, another amazing combination compared to other available jk suspension systems.
The x-member is a Barnes, the axle bracket and frame bracket are made in house. The frame bracket used on the jk 3link is the same bracket used on the tj mid arm, just welded together backwards to use on the right side frame rail.

Cool build, this a dream build. Can’t wait to see it done👍🏻
It's been done for about 2 1/2 years.

It's difficult to stay intrested and dedicated in a forum when a couple guys are constantly yapping about things I do and don't want to learn or innovate, assert their dominance with no repercussions, turning everything someone else does that they don't understand or agree with into a mess.

If there's intrested, I'll dig up build pics and at least post some highlights.
I did alot of custom parts and fixed a bunch of problems associated with the kit. The first time it was off the pavement. It got drug more than half way through the lower crushers @TSF headed up from the bottom behind my tj running 37's on a Dana 30 from the gen right belly smashing the transmission pan under it as it dumped all the transmission fluid on the ground. It had no go power. We ran the engine anyway for steering. The skid had to be majorly reinforced. The radiator and fans were a fiasco. It ended up with a 3300cfm fan with 250amp relays and 6g power cables.

I’d be interested in seeing how you got the steering/trackbar stuff sorted out if you’ve got them. I’ve got a RockJock in the front of mine and everything hits everything with the way it was built before I ended up with it. I’m about to tear it all apart to fix it and seeing how you went about it would be helpful.

Track bar was just bent in a couple directions to clear the engine dampner.

Steering laid in just like gen right had it mapped out to go in from the tracer kit. A key component is the short radiator.

Pretty shocking to hear the belly pan wasn’t up for duty. Were there any other issues with the Tracer Kit? I looked at it briefly until I added up the true cost of everything and the chickened out. I went Savvy mid-arm + fox 2.0 outboarded and I’m happy with the results but part of me always wonders what if with the Tracer setup.
