HVAC fan won't blow

Good morning y’all.
My 97 TJ fan won’t blow.
It started the sometimes on and sometimes not about 3 months ago.
Now won’t blow at all.
The last time it worked it only worked on high about 3 weeks ago.
I picked up a switch at O’Reillys , hoping that might be it but that didn’t fix things.
Just wondering if it’s the switch or fan or something else ?

What switch did you replace? Losing the lower fan speeds and having only high speed is the classic symptom of the resistor frying. Check it and replace as necessary. Also, replace the blower motor itself at the same time, as it ages it tends to take more power to run, stressing the system.

Thanks. I tried replacing the 3 speed fan switch on the front of the dash.
I’ll take a look at the resistor and fan motor.

You will need to replace both the resistor and blower motor.

The fan going out likes to melt the connector that goes to the resistor, so make sure you inspect that carefully

If you end up needing a fan motor, I have a VDO brand that I got on rockauto for my 99 and never got around to installing it before I bought the LJ and sold the TJ. PM me if you want it.

2nd edit: I have to retract my offer as I can't find it. There's a chance I threw it in with the TJ when I sold it but I know I didn't sell it loose. Can't recall the last time I've put my hands on it though.
