Looking at the genright mini boat sides with the backer plate for my LJ. However I see they offer a couple different options and I'm not one to buy twice if I can help it. I plan on stretching the wheelbase either later this year or beginning of next year when I 4 link the rear. The plan I think is to buy the genright part #RCG-6303 which is the standard length for a LJ, and then buy some blank corners to cut up for the stretch. But then they also have the tracer and stretched version. I was thinking of the stretched version however don't think I'll be able to put them on until I do the quarters at the same time. I'd like some better protection now not later.
So I guess my question is would the standard LJ mini boat sides look out of place with a stretched wb. Or should I just drive more careful and buy the stretched version when I do the stretch.

Imagine if TJ sliders on your LJ would look ok. That is what you are asking.

I see you have Rubi sliders in your pfp. How are those working out for you?

I only got the GR sliders/corners because I was starting to take on tub damage and couldn't do the trails I wanted to. Otherwise, I would've likely kept waiting for a better option.

Been running them for a couple months and they blew out the body mount bushings already. Otherwise I don't mind the look of them but function isn't the best.

Wait till you stretch.

Not fully understanding your analogy. Never asked about tj sliders. Just the difference between the stock length LJ, stretched, tracer stretched.

This should clarify things a bit...

As it sits right now today, would TJ sliders look out of place on your LJ?

Now take your answer to this question and apply it to a stretched wheelbase LJ with standard length LJ sliders.

Okay I get it now. Just wasn't expecting the length difference to be that much difference. Figured stretch the rear back 5" or so on 40/42s would make the wheel opening only 2" or so inches further back from what it is now.

It all depends on how important wheel well to wheel well coverage will be to you in the future, either functionally or aesthetically.

Guess I need to roll the 40s up to it and get an idea on how aesthetic it will look. On that note I've tried emailing genright asking what the length difference is between the 3 options with no reply. Does anyone else know the length differences.
