Oil pressure loss and dipstick reading high

Did the oil on the dipstick look totally normal? The only other thing I can think of other than a foreign liquid getting into it, or too much oil, is either you just happen to have oil in the tube and kept scraping it off onto the dipstick, or the oil was aerated making it look more than it was (think of whipped cream vs. milk). But, I would think the physical look and properties of aerated oil would be obvious.
 
He already said he confirmed it was only 6 qts in the pan. Sounds like he didn't get a good reading from the dipstick for whatever reason. Indicated oil pressure is likely a sensor but only the already suggested mechanical gauge can tell for sure.
