Water proof tool box?

my uber cheap method is a craftsman tool bag o have had laying around with a terry towel inside to quiet it down and that sit inside a Walmart plastic bag for water proofing. fits under the drivers seat out of sight but if you spot it it looks like a trash bag for those parking lot thieves.

I'm using this box, got it on Amazon for 90

Had a toll box behind the back seat in BB, to be honest I forgot I had it back there.

When I pulled the soft top off, I took the tool box out and dang if my tools weren't sitting in water.

I don't carry a lot, pliers, sockets couple of screw drivers, ratchets and so forth.

I am looking for a good waterproof tool storage that will fit behind the back seat. Any recommendations??

I have a couple of Pelican-style hard cases that I use for this type of application.
Most can be locked shut and/or to the vehicle, although that will only keep honest folks honest.

I am using a Ridgid Pro 2 tool case (around $30), as I wanted it to fit behind the seat, and not show above the lift gate. My two stage bottle jack fits inside and I still need to get all the tools into it.

Ridgid Tool box at Home Depot - IP65 rated against the elements such as water and dust

Took mine to the next level. Fills the space better, little to no rattling around. The orange bins work in both boxes

Just an update, I have been packing the Apache box for several months now.

It works perfectly. My tools are dry and the foam keeps them quiet.

I am looking at a Dewalt 1/2" cordless impact ( I already own Dewalt) and will get another Apache case to carry it in.

I keep my sockets in small ballistic nylon bags, so I labeled them with some 3D fabric paint

When I read your post and got to the first pic (not realizing you said “before”), I was thinking “Dude - your tools are a mess! Have some respect!”

And then I read the rest of the post… ☺️

Nice work. I’m a big fan of organization.
