So my pin actuator and a few other ignition switch components need to be replaced ?
Keep in mind I live in Africa ( Yes we have jeeps hear )
While Im waiting for parts ( 1 month ) I have fitted a push button starter .

1. Put the key into the ignition.
2. Turn it on.
3. Push button , it starts.
4. Turn key off , it wont stop ???
5. WHAT WIRE OR WHAT MUST I DO TO FIT A KILL SWITCH.
6. I now put it into 6th to kill it ...not ideal at all........

Is it as simple as pushing the button again to make it shut off?

I would think if anything, that would engage the starter again if I'm imagining the configuration correctly.

I haven't messed with ignition switches/systems much, but I would think it's an issue with the key switch. I'm guessing one of the failed components is keeping it from shutting down the engine, otherwise something wasn't wired up correctly. This is all just a guess though.

100% it is one of the components that has failed, If I press the button again it will engage the starter and more than likely wreck it , But there must be some way of shutting it off with a togle switch .......

Depending upon your year for the color (you can download a service manual on this site, it includes wiring diagrams), there is a "ignition" wire up to the ignition switch that you can intercept.

A more difficult option is to pull the ASD relay from the fuse box under the hood.

This can be figured out from the factory service manual (available in the TJ Resources forum here). Section 8W covers wiring. Since I don't know what year you have (Hot Tip: fill out your profile so that other users trying to help you can help you more efficiently), I'll use the manual for mine - 2005. There are two key pages in there to figure this out. Page 8W-10-11 shows the ignition switch, where voltage is distributed from Position 2, which is the RUN position. That position sends voltage to to at least eight different fuses, but you need to find the one that sends voltage to either the Auto ShutDown (ASD) relay that dbbd1 mentioned, or the PCM, to confirm it's the right circuit, and what options you have for where to wire in the switch. I've already done that for you - voltage flows through Fuse 12, and that can be seen on page 8W-11-8. Here are two screen shots with Fuse 12 lined up for the two pages:

So, to kill the engine, you need to interrupt (put a switch in) any of the following wires:
  • the Pink/Light Green wire from pin 2 on the ignition switch connector to pin 9 in the fuse block (probably your best bet, since it's in the steering column)
  • the Pink/White wire from pin 32 in the fuse block, through C301, to pin C6 on the Fuel Pump Relay connector
  • the Pink/White wire from pin C6 on the Fuel Pump Relay connector to pin A13 on the ASD relay connector
  • the Pink/White wire from pin A13 on the ASD relay connector, through C103, to pin 11 on PCM connector C1
  • the Pink/White wire from pin 32 in the fuse block to pin 4 on the Sentry connector, may also work, but may not (I don't know if the Sentry box worries about the key once it's checked at start-up). This one would be my last choice.
Good luck - let us know how you make out.
