Remove your driveshafts, one at a time and see if it goes away on a test drive
I assume that I'll need some sort of cap for the then-open T-Case output shaft port?

Well, I took the the driveshaft out and it appears to be in better condition than I had originally expected - No play in the Ujoints. There's a little wiggle on the Tcase side, but just barely enough for me to think the UJoint was the culprit. I had a buddy run along side the Jeep at <5 mph to get a recording from the rear left tire, much louder on that side than the rear right.
I was thinking that it had to just be somethin new with the control arms since that's the new hardware but I found that the sound gets faster and faster as you speed up to 20 & 30 mph. Some additional parameters:
Only happens while coasting, never while accelerating.
Happens in forward and reverse
can't replicate it while the Jeep is on jackstands, even while running up to "30mph" indicated on speedo.
can't tilt wheels on jackstands to indicate wheel bearing failure
So what do you think this could be? I don't see anything rubbing or contacting underneath the Jeep, and I'm suspecting I might have broke something like an axle seal while we were rocking the Jeep around getting those bolt holes lined up for the adjustable arms.
I had a rear spring rattle that baffled me for a bit. it would only appear on coasting and would be intermittent. figured it out by idling the engine and rocking the jeep back and forth. I wasn't hearing it at speed as it was being masked by the exhaust noise but it was there the whole time.

Driveshaft doesn't slip into the tcase like the yj or some pickups
I suppose that could be it ... we were rocking the jeep back and forth to set those bolts into place, maybe we just got a spring off its perch or something?
How did you fix that?
I have heard the sound gain a lot of speed as I sped up, and it sounds rather ...rotational. so I'm not sure.

I figured out where the noise was coming from when I could simply squeeze the springs by hand during idle and the noise went away.
I popped the springs out and put these in

mid arm installer didn't put em in as requested. "I never use those there's never an issue". sure..
check to see if yours are there or if they are worn. I'm not saying this is your problem, just something to test for.
Mine looks like it does...? I mean I could remove the SY boot and pull that off, is that the intention?

Oh gotcha! Yeah thankfully there is zero sound at idle for me, only in motion.
It would happen at idle with rocking back and forth, not just sitting there without any motion at all.
your pads are there and look fine though.
It doesn't. Yours isn't special...
Getting the Pinion angle right, though I still have some higher speed vibes in the steering, I'm blaming the funky geometry of the drop pitman for now. I might also need to balance out the front axle a bit due to the lift. its my next hunt. What fixed the vibes?
Too bad — you should have bought tires that would let you go 90mph uphill.
I'd like to find some of those too.
Maybe if I get a regear I'll have a hope of going over 60 on the flats, haha
