Dana 44 Rear Axle Shaft Bearing Movement

Most of that on their part is kinda silly. They had the parts on the shelf at one point. Sensors, tone rings, and disc brake backing plates from the ZJ all bolt right up and plug into the connectors.

Agreed. For whatever reason it didn’t make it into the TJ, but they absolutely could have done it without really changing anything.

Note how my question was phrased. I know they exist, I've been through this before a few times with window stickers. I just have never seen one and I've seen a lot of rigs.

I did notice how you politely phrased the question. The poster directly after you not so much....

My direct TJ experience is limited to the 2 I have owned, so 50% of them were equipped with a 44 with ABS. Obviously that ratio would change with a larger sample size like you've seen.

I have 10 TJ rear Dana 44's here. None of them have ABS, now what? ;)

Now we're at 8.33%, but our sample doesn't seem to be a random sample so I don't know that we can project that rate to the population with any level of precision.

Seriously though, I didn't realize the 44/ABS combo was as uncommon as it seems to be. I don't usually stumble onto unicorns, so I didn't figure there was anything less than typical about my '05.

Using up drum parts they had on the shelf so they wouldn't have to throw it away when the jk came out?
