back on july 27, 2023 i inquired about getting a console lid cover made to match my bartact seat covers. after many months of waiting i began my attempt at contacting bartact. apparently they no longer answer their calls and barely respond to email. after being assured multiple times that they would get my console lid cover done and shipped they finally threw in the towel and refunded my payment.

bartact has gone down hill since i called and ordered custom digital cammo seat covers for front and rear seats. they were a pleasure to deal with a couple years ago but not now. many emails back and forth over trying to get console lid cover done and just now getting a refund.

below is an excerpt from their last response.

Hello,

I am the general manager for this location. At this location I am at we do all of the shipping, receiving, packaging for private labelled products, custom embroidery, stocking, ordering of materials, making grab handles, headrest covers, tie downs, in charge of cutting 70% of the products we sell, customer service for phones and emails, accounting, and many more responsibilities. There is currently only two of us at this location where there used to be five of us. As you can probably imagine we are very backed up and it is extremely hard for us to be on top of our emails and catch every phone call. We would also love to get that production manager to get everything dialed in but there has been a lot of manufacturing issues going on over here. We employ 3 groups of seamstresses and each one is at a different location than the other. MONTHS ago group A told us that they cannot handle the amount of work they were being given, and at the same time group B was asking for more. We gave the extra load of work to group B but they started choking and could not handle it. Group B told us just last month that they cannot handle more work so we had to give everything that was originally group A’s duty to group C. All of this set many big orders back and we are still trying to catch up. We are still in the process of training group C how to do everything that groups A & B could not do. We are focusing on the oldest seat cover orders at the moment so we really do not know when we will be able to get the smaller newer items back into production. We hate that this has happened and we are doing everything we can to fix it.

Thank you,
-Dominic

beware of doing business with bartact these days as it seems the wheels have fallen off of their operation.

Off the cuff I want to commend them for the honesty but I don’t know if that was the most professional answer-

Running a business is hard- And when things are challenging custom making something is an added challenge-

Thank you for the post- good info

I saw on there website that they have shifted some mfg perhaps out of the US.

Shifting jobs out of the USA needs to stop.
That is only a small part of why our economy is in the state it is...
I am hoping our economy will start to change for the better in November.

I bought their seat covers a few months back and the fit was garbage. I emailed them multiple times and finally received a response acknowledging the seat covers were made incorrectly. I believe it was Dominic that asked me to return them and he would upgrade me no charge.

I returned them as instructed and saw a credit on my account a few days later? I never heard from Dominic or Bartact again.

I will never buy anything from them and the next time i get the urge to buy seat covers I will go to Walmart and spend 29.99 and be disappointed instead of $300

But on the flip side we also need people here who actually want to work. And have skills.

Sewing is hard. About as hard as fabrication. Lot of measuring, precision and attention to detail. Machines that will take fingers.

How many of your kids grow up wearing hand made clothes? Who's teaching the next generation or even motivating them to learn?

Meanwhile we're bitching about letting folks into this country that do want to work...

I'd love it to be as simple as not off shoring work...but as with everything these days it's complicated as hell.

I feel for Bartac. I'd be running a couple of businesses right now if I even though I had a chance in hell to hire some decent people.

He’s telling it like it is-

We have been looking down on blue-collar work for half a century and just a really good indication is all the people that are in this country today to do work gladly that we look down at.

There is truth in what you say...
Generation Z has too many self entitled weenies that believe they are owed something for doing nothing...

Only when they don't get here via the legally established channels. No issues with immigration, many issues with illegal immigration.

We have been looking down on blue-collar work for half a century

There's truth in this. Teachers, guidance counselors (and some parents) have been convincing young people for quite a while now that they need to go to college and that working with your hands is somehow shameful and not lucrative...both of which are untrue. Many schools don't even offer any kind of shop classes anymore, more focus on college prep. Now we have a bunch of young people with lots of college debt, no job and no will to do real work...and the same lib/dem politicians who infected the education system with this bullshit mentality (and the idiots who promote it) are also now pushing to forgive that college debt on the taxpayer's nickel.

RANT (incredibly unrelated to the actual topic of seat covers):

The biggest thing I hate about my Millennial generation is just that, they're very self entitled. I grew up with a good amount of people in high school and you can tell who went to college for a STEM degree and who went to college just to check the box because everyone one else is doing it.

A 4 year degree in Lesbian Underwater Basket Weaving with a minor in gender studies only nets me 30k a year?? Who could've seen that coming. No one wants to do actual work anymore and the people that are barely clinging on in the corporate work making power-points and sitting in meetings all day are going to get wiped off the face of the Earth in about 5 years when Ai concepts become fully implemented across the board. Taking woodshop and metalworking classes out of high school was one of the worst decisions ever, actually.

Amen

Hear, hear! We had them both in junior and senior high....and everyone had to take them in junior, just like I had to take cooking and sewing.

Lesbian Underwater Basket Weaving

Sounds like a scouting merit badge. :D

How legal were we when we showed up and started killing everybody and taking the land?

I understand where you're coming from but that's technically an entirely different matter and discussion (and one I'd happily have with anyone). We've made many mistakes in getting to this point, and some folks seem hellbent on continuing that trend (that'd be the current administration, for one). We have established ways to go about these things and many people take advantage of it every year. Simply allowing them to stream across the borders unchecked is not the solution. It only creates more problems, doesn't really solve any, including the lack of labor force angle. Drug trafficking, human trafficking and general crime are some of the big ones.

The technical college is closed in Madison County which is home with the largest city in the state because no children were interested in learning trades- good, lucrative trades.

Mommy and daddy don’t want to get sued but want Wally to be a lawyer-

They don’t want to get sick but they would be proud if he’s a doctor-

They don’t want to pay a lot of taxes but they would be happy if he’s an accountant-

But they will cry and complain about the derelict that shows up to fix the roof that ended up doing that for a living because he had no career direction-

In addition to our national conscious having a stigma toward blue-collar work and the great lie of “Go to college and make something of yourself” which carried the inference that you failed if you didn’t- we fail to help young men and women find their strengths- Germans do and they help find direction and train extensively.

The Calvary is not coming. What is the problem cannot be fixed in in a reasonable timeframe it will take generations.

The upside is if you know how to do this you can write your own ticket- this is a 90 degree load transfer we are having a ball with , for over $300,000 to be here.
