Sucks Getting Old

To a point. My 94 y/o MIL is having multiple health issues to go along with her Alzheimers. Quality over Quantity.

Like I tell everyone, if I'd known I was gunna live this long I'd have taken better care of myself... All those years in the military is hard on you.
But I wouldn't change a thing either.

First one they asked if I wanted to be knocked out. I asked if anyone ever said no????
I've never been knocked out for a colonoscopy. It really isn't a big deal and I can watch the whole thing on the big screen they have. Doesn't work for everybody though - my (ex-) boss tried it for his first time, and ended up asking for the sedation.

I can't even watch myself get tattooed. We're going to take this 4 ft house with a GoPro on the end and.... "get me the drugs!!!" They warned my I'd have a big fart what it was over. I farted so loud it woke me up from my sedation. Thats the only part I wish I was fully awake for

I watched them do my ACL.... It was pretty cool.

Watching them yard 100's of feet of gauze out of your leg after you got shot was a totally different deal. Watching them do tattoos ain't even a thing.

Gad damn!! I would have puked then passed out watching. About 80% of my body is tattooed, still hate watching. If I could get knocked out for that too I'd be all over it. Been seeing videos of people getting put out to get tattooed, feel like thats cheating.

Oh joy 2 finger waves in 1 month. If he prescribes hormone therapy does that mean you guys will have to refer to me as They or Them?

I hate you're having issues, but that's funny. Wear a wig and some lipstick, and I bet your state will pay your medical bills.

I'm 19 and balding.

If they don't work, I don't know what the fuck I'll do.

I hate it for you, but honestly, hair is just cosmetic, I say embrace it. I went to school with a guy who had some disease that caused him to lose almost all of his hair before graduating from high school. He had random patches of missing hair starting when he was a kid. He had cousins, twin girls, who never had any hair, not even eyebrows, from birth. It sucks, but there's a lot worse out there.

agree.

Just embrace it and build a look that people won't mess with you.

I had a hernia back in 2013. My son takes me to the ER I'm in agony. So a hot looking doctor comes into the room moves my junk out of the way pushes the bulge trying to put it back inside. Talk about killing the mood.

She said do you want pain meds before I try again? I said now you ask?

Well after I have surgery I go see the surgeon for the follow up. The nurse said that the surgeon has a medical student with him today is that okay?

A 20 something comes into the room by herself. She says the surgeon wants her to assess me then after she tells him, he will be in.

She has me drop my shorts moves my junk around my hernia was above my junk but I guess both of them were being thorough?

I have to admit I had more than a few dreams after that. (At my age all I have is dreams)

When I got snipped, my urologists hot 25yo brunette assistant came in and checked to make sure I'd shaved as directed and proceeded to wipe down the ENTIRE area with an alcohol swab to prep for the procedure. I was uncharacteristically calm about it, but I credit the Valium they'd given me to take 45 minutes before my appointment.

I've never been able to watch myself get tattooed - both of mine are unviewable by me - my tramp stamp and a nape of neck tattoo. Thinking about a floral on the shoulder - I'd kinda like to watch that (i think...).

I worked with a guy who in his 30s got Alopecia. One day he had hair and the next every hair on his body fell off. Wore a Doo-rag after that.

I think that's the word I've heard it called. The guy I went to school with looked something like this by the 9th grade, and was pretty much the reverse by the time he graduated. I was under the impression it is a hereditary thing, is it not?

That's alopecia areata. Most of us on here that are without hair have androgenetic alopecia. I have early onset androgenetic alopecia. I like to call it my "way early for his 40's syndrome".

About another month or two I'll be buying Miller for the boys.

A guy in my high school went from gray sideburns as a freshman to full gray hair by graduation.

I've had 3 colonoscopies and 2 rectal surgeries. A finger here or there isn't the worst. One surgery I was off work for a month, maybe six weeks. It was sort if a blur where I'd get up, take some drugs, and next thing I knew it was 5 pm. Random stuff would be delivered to the house so I lost my credit card privileges.

I was awake when the operated on my wrist. But they had a curtain up.

I'm getting back in shape with lifting and bike riding. Every morning my alarm goes off and this fight ensues.

My daughter is doing some CNA work at a nursing home before med school. Her recomendation is to exercise as much as you can as long as you can.

This is where I am right now. My ankle isn't telling me to get fucked as often as it did in February and March. That tendon, though, is a bastard at 6am and 6pm.
