PRP Enduro Trail Fitment (Not Comfort) Question

My wife and I have sat in the PRP Enduro Trail seats and find they fit our bodies and the intended use of our TJ well. I have asked PRP about those seats fitment into a 1997 Jeep TJ and they are intentionally vague in their answers and basically say they are made to be a universal fit etc…

I am hoping that some one has installed these Enduro in one of their flavors (elite, trail, crawl, etc) can confirm that the 22” width while tight will fit into a 1997 with a factory center console.

My concerns are:
(1) Are they so tight that the can’t be reclined due to interference with the B pillar of the roll bar?
(2) Will the recline handle hit the door and prevent it from properly closing? Having to adjust with the door open is fine with me.
(3) I don’t think it’s an issue but any difficulty sliding forward and backwards?

Any other complications or unintended consequences on the fitment or function (not comfort) of the seats in a 1997?

Thanks for any insights…

I have the EnduroTrek seats that should be here this week or next. Per the reviews I've read on them, and based on my off-road shops experience, they fit fine in a TJ as long as you use the brackets for a TJ.

Here is a good review of the PRP seats in a TJ. They aren't the same front seats, but the ones in the video have the same dimensions as the Enduro series seats.

I'm planning on a rear PRP seat for my TJ in the very near future.

Thank you for that link. It answered my questions

I have the Enduro Reclining. The recline lever will rub on the door and the seat back will make contact. I was also disappointed the fabric came apart at the hinge point not long after I purchased them.
Overall their comfortable.

i think I can deal with the lever. The seat blowing soar in short order would be unacceptable. Luckily I live close enough to them to pay them a visit if necessary.

Got mine installed today.

I need to make some modifications to the brackets to shift the seats 1-1.25" towards the center of the Jeep. There is a ton of room now between the seats and center console. And the recline lever and upper side bolsters hit the door panel. I think it is a matter of just drilling new holes in the brackets.

One quick question in the lever… does it come with a lever on both sides of the seat, or is it interchangeable left to right?

No, the seats are ordered for driver and passenger. The lever is on the outside only.

I'm glad I asked. I ordered seats last night, but the website did not have an option to order driver and passenger seats. I ordered the seats slightly differentl. My wife, who is my copilot, wanted a goggle pouch to keep her sunscreen, chapstick, and other items.
However, I did not want the pouch on my seat to interfere with my fire extinguisher mount.

I sent an email to the company this evening and plan to call them in the morning to confirm that they understand my intent and will build the seats accordingly.

How far inboard do you think you need to move the seat to avoid the door and roll bar or at least to make it acceptable? Is there enough room? Are you using the PRP 97-02 mounts or a home brew method of mounting?

Probably only about a1/4", but I think the 1" will be best . I haven't measured, but it looks like there is room.
