Made a couple whoopie slings from 1/8 UHMWPE I had laying around.

Like the idea... concerned it would direct the limb straight into the leading edge of the fiberglass top. Perhaps a piece of folded metal that could slip between the hard top and windshield to finish the redirection?

I still think the best solution is a chainsaw. If it's big enough to cause damage then do yourself and everyone following you a favor and cut it out of the way.

Yeah if you're going to do a lot of limb crashing it'd be better to get brackets. I don't like pushing through brush either.

Almost all of my driving is on clear roads and I don't like the overlander "bolt on every accessory possible to look cool" style, so I wanted something that's normally stored away and only comes out when needed. The last pic is where I wrapped them around the roll bar for storage.
