NTK O2 sensors discontinued

By the way the I ordered a pair today from monarch products out of Cali.Around $42.50 a piece no local parts stores even had them listed in their computer systems.I called napa, advanced, autozone,O'reilleys and auto zone they know nothing about this part.NTK said that monarch is their oldest parts distributor and they are on backorder.Monarchs phone number 888-800-9629.Hope this helps.

Wow I didn't realize how difficult it was going to be to get an O2 sensor for the TJ. I'm glad I found this thread.

I called monarch and they are out of stock and only getting 5 in about a week. Seems they should be making more of these at a time.

Are there three o2 sensors?
Are they all the same part number

If o get three of the same part number 23179 is that correct for a backup set?

Your TJ has four O2 sensor part numbers with four different connectors so they can't get mixed up. You can likely find the Mopar versions on www.rockauto.com though they will cost more. They were made by NTK for Mopar.

That is bad news that's great to know.

But now I have question.

Do the 23251 and 23122 (Sensors #1 different years) have the same plug connection?

Are they the same connection as the 223099 Sensor #2 (both years)?

Do Sensor 1s (Upstream) and Sensor 2s (Downstream) send the the same signal regarding the oxygen/whatever levels? If so why haven't they been the same since day one?

I'm asking because I'm pretty sure all four different sensors on my 2006 TJ have completely different plug connections, and/or the wiring length is different enough that they aren't interchangeable. (at least the short wire won't reach where the long wire was)

EDIT: Well typing that took a little longer than expected. Not that bad so not changing it.

I just ordered a Mopar upstream from Rock Auto. I think the cat is plugged too.

I just spoke with ngk/ntk about the sensors that have been discontinued. They change the numbers for the 23151,23099 and the 23122 are all now 23179.Longer wiring harness .

How can they use the same part number for all of the sensors when they all have different connectors? Are we to splice wires? Makes no sense.

Rockauto has in stock all four for both NTK and Mopar for his year Jeep. The earlier year Jeeps with only 2 sensors aren't available from NTK on Rockauto or on the NTK website (Rockauto has MOPAR's available). NTK says they're on national backorder with no date when they'll be available.

was the ONLY difference the wire length & connector? I see a cottage industry around building harness adapters for O2 sensors.

did you try NAPA and Rockauto ? glad I have 2 extra sets 1ea for mine and my brothers Rubi's .....Try both the NTK and NGK #'s they're the same sensor

Thanks but too expansive to brring to mexico, Denso or Wlaker are options? Did someone try these and had some comments?
