2006 TJ with 4.0 and auto. 180K on the clock. No engine codes. I have replaced the oil sender (switch) and the oil filter.

When the engine warms up, the oil gauge reads zero when I am stopped at a light. It does this in drive or reverse when stopped. If I pop it in to neutral, the oil gauge goes back to normal. There is absolutely no enginge noise when this happens. A while back my right turn signal illuminated when I turned my head lights were turned on.

Oil pump???

You need to test the actual oil pressure with a test gauge. Many auto parts stores will loan you the tool.

The switch is supposed to be set at 6 PSI. So, if it is working, when it goes to zero, you have less than 6 PSI. Spec at idle is 13 PSI.

Also check your wiring harness.
2006 wire loom deteriorates like crazy and exposes the wires which in turn can have the insulation on the wires melt. Especially behind the engine on the loom running down to the trans/tcase.
This has caused all sorts of issues for some.

Cold vs hot, usually means a tolerance issue with a bearing or lifter galleys the thick oil will make good pressure, when hot it bleeds off.
