Any suggestions for video editing programs?

Preferably easy to use, free or not terribly expensive.

Davinci Resolve 17. Free, and one of the most capable video editors on the market. It has a pretty kickass audio editing app built into it as well. You do need a capable PC or Mac though. The difference between Free and Full version is how it operates. The full version resides on the cloud, so you don't use up a lot of your computer resources, and there is some additional functionality. It's easy to learn, there are a ton of YouTube instructional videos out there, and if you do opt to buy the full version at around $300 they will send you an editing surface for free which is an awesome deal. The surface itself is worth the price. I personally use the free version and I don't know too many editors that can beat it for the price!

Thank you. I’ll check it out this weekend.

I've been using shotcut, which is cross platform, open source, and free, for the last year or so. How it compares to others I have no idea, but I switched to it after screaming at iMovie's bugs one time too many.

Thanks, I’ll check that out too.

I've been using Movavi Video Editor for a while, and it's my go-to for quick edits and projects. The new features seem really useful, especially the audio effects and the enhanced effects menu which sounds like it'll streamline the editing process a lot.

So I started researching video editing about a month ago. I'm a total green hand at it and have 0 prior experience or knowledge on the subject. About a week ago I finally decided on going with Davinci Resolve. I'd say "easy to use" can be a loose term. If your willing to invest a little bit of time watching YT videos and playing around with the program, you can pick up the basics in about an 90 minutes or so. There is a great tutorial video on YT. Its a total of 4 hours, and I haven't watched all of it yet. It covers the basics, which you have to understand are pretty in depth depending on what you want to achieve. However after watching the first 45 minutes, I was able to piece together a "timeline" from about six videos, that were around 5-8 minutes each, to make one coherent 15 minute video. Its been a lot of fun learning/playing with the program and I've barely scratched the surface.
