Ok, so my Smittybilt side bars rusted through and are waiting for replacements. My SB rear bumper, however, just took a pretty good whack from a VW Passat and came through with just a few scratches. I'm impressed!

would like to see pics of the VW?

I once had a chevy sedan hit the back of last JK and my spare folded her hood into the windshield and the tow hook put a 4 inch hole in her bumper. The only damage I sustained is when carfax listed my jeep as having been in a rear end accident when I went to trade it in!

LOL I didn't even think to get pix because my Jeep was ok. He'll need a hood, rt fender, front end. He did drive it away though.

Smittybilt bumpers front and rear. I was the only one to drive away from a 4 car pileup. I was the third vehicle in the chain. The last pic is the vehicle that hit all of us. Were were all stopped in traffic.

Wow, how did that happen?

Gotta love Jeeps for this reason. In accidents like this, they usually walk away unscathed.

Blue car hit the Lexus SUV at full speed and the Lexus slammed into me an pushed me into the vehicle in front of me. Parts from the original blue car flew past my Jeep on impact. Broke the driver's seat from the impact. It hurt but I drove the Jeep home. My headache lasted for days...

All vehicles except for the blue car were fully stopped in traffic.

Hopefully you got some money out of the insurance. Something similar happened to me and let’s just say I didn’t walk away empty handed.

I barely got my Jeep fixed. The Lexus ate up the majority of the available insurance $$$.

Damn! When that happened to me they gave me $2000 just for saying my neck was hurt, as well as one year of free chiropractic and one year of free massages.

They paid my medical bills and fixed the Jeep. Nothing else. Had to fight with the insurance company to fix the Jeep.

My smittybilt xrc bumper has surprised me a little bit while playing on the rocks and being rear ended by a motorcycle. The finish has lasted longer than I thought too.

But I still plan on replacing it, the carrier is a joke and the way the XRC is built it takes away my approach angles.
