Hey I've been thinking about a harness 4 or 5 point.? Also the bar that goes behind the seat that the harness attaches. I see where rock hard 4x4 has one angle and straight across. Can yall educate me on this? I guess its kinda hard to load people in the back seat once you install the cross bar.

You want the kind of cross-bar that is angled back as it gives room to slide the front seats back into the usual position. Be sure to weld them into place at shoulder height as shown below. Mounted too low and your spine could be compressed/broken (a friend/neighbor was killed in a slow-speed offroad accident from that) and too high you could come out of the seat. I wear my 4pt. harnesses on occasion but unless you're doing high-speed racing, I don't see the need for the 5th point crotch strap. Do keep your easily/quickly used factory OE seat belts in place and fully functional, you won't want to wear 4pt. or even the 3" 2-pt. lap belt on a daily basis as they're a PITA.

Anyone know a way to make the harness belts work with the stock seats? My ass is too big for any of the suspension seats and most racing seats. I end up sitting on the bolsters and it's not what you would call comfortable. Do they make some sort of webbing to hold the shoulder straps together like the holes in the seats do?

There must have been a time
when we could have said no.

Jerry, do you think this would run a close 2nd to the cross bar? and give more room for the back seat. and might even aid in support in a roll over being somewhat of a triangle .

I'm not even remotely qualified to answer that question. @mrblaine would be the one to give an educated opinion there.

The short answer is two parts. #1- if you aren't climbing in through the window over the door bars, it isn't a cage. #2- Only a pair of fools give and take cage advice that doesn't involve climbing in through the window over the door bars.
