My first hot rod experience was in 1970. My Mom was working for a Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth dealer in Commerce, GA.

The owner had just received a Plymouth SuperBird (his personal car) in Petty Blue.

Mom's car was in the shop for something and didn't get done that day and Mr. Bolton the owner tossed her the keys and said take my car.

She dropped me off in front of the school the next day, I thought i was the King for sure

The next one was in 1984, I was living in the Orlando area and they were having mud racing at the then Tangerine Bowl, now Citrus Bowl.

This was in the beginning stages of Monster Trucks and Spikers All American from Lakeland was there.

The next weekend I drove to Lakeland to check out Spikers store, they had All American there that weekend giving rides, I was 21 and you would have thought I was 10 again.

In 2014 my wife and I took a trip to Peru and stopped to visit people in the way. We met my old college roommate during a long layover in Ft Lauderdale and he let me drive his V10 Audi R8.

(Stock photo, his was black but that doesn't show as well in pictures)

Then on the way back we had a flight delay and had to spend the night near DFW. My wife's late uncle took me to lunch in his 355.

My dad had two E30 M3s while I was in middle and high school (again, stock photos because digital cameras weren't mainstream yet)

When I was in college he had an e28 M5. They have less of a following but it really kinda started the sport sedan thing and to me it's probably the most BMW car that BMW ever did, with 250ish HP and tq inline 6 through a 5 speed manual...

I also had a buddy that got an rx7 TT and let me drive it right when the Fast and Furious movie came out and blew up their popularity.

Tesla Model S Plaid.

Absolutely pin your ears back acceleration, and the loudest thing while doing it is the tire noise.

I've ridden in some fast cars, but nothing with as brutal a launch as that Tesla.

Tesla's are fast but boring.

I've not ridden in a Tesla but I drove a Mustang Mach E on an old airfield and got to test it out a bit. The instant torque and acceleration are really cool. Even so, it still just did nothing for me. I just can't make myself be interested in them. Not knocking if people enjoy them or prefer them, that's perfectly fine, just don't force it on me!

Gotta chase in one of these😳

We got to take an old ford van when we went to Katla a little over a year ago. The rigs in Iceland are massive!

Also have ridden in my FILs 1970 Chevelle with the original 454 ls6. He gunned it on the hwy out of town and it threw me to the back of my seat. It was so cool to see the cowl hood induction open up.

Around 1986, my sister's boyfriend had a really nice '68 Camaro that was all original. That car was very nice! Too bad my sister pissed him off lol.

Around 1989, I had a friend with a 1980 lifted Toyota truck. That was the first time I went wheeling. That was a good year of wheeling with him until he totaled it, rolled it while offroad.
