What a great day!!!!
Your Jeep has really come together!!!!!
Hoping to get out the 16th and run Beasley Knob in North Georgia, shakedown run to see how the trails are for our stock Jeep friends.
Then hoping to run Coalmont again next month.

Dutch John used to be rutted out all through the trail. Over the years they’ve groomed it to make it one of the easier trails but glad it’s getting back to what it used to be. As easy as Uwharrie can be, I really miss going. It’ll be my first stop for a shakedown when I finish my build.

Tuesday, I went out on some local back roads that have mostly shaded trails just messing around, hoping to see some snakes. No luck but still had fun.
That made me want to do more, so Wednesday morning I packed up and went to Uwharrie for a day of fun. It was miserable fun, way too hot to be puttering around in the woods with no breeze. A little analog thermometer I had laying on the dash showed 110° at one point. I did see 2 turkey’s and 3 deer. No snakes again though.
The ride back home in the evening felt nice.

I’ve held off on going back out to Uwharrie because of how hot it’s been. It sounds fun until you’re crawling at 100 degrees in the sun.

Yeah, I’ve only gone one other time during the hot months (2021). Probably won’t do that any more, but it was still a little fun. LOL

Hot and no real rain, I bet that place was a dust bowl.

I didn’t see anyone on the trails, but it was very dusty. I only seen a couple vehicles on the gravel roads surrounding the areas. The cooling fan blew up a bunch of dust in some places.
Maybe everyone was smarter than me.
I'm not 100% as it was just a quick image grab, but I think it said Oklahoma 2008.
Having lived here for most of my life, the picture tickled my spidey sense as not being congruent with Oklahoma landscape and infrastructure. I found several instances of it on the Web via Google Lens and all were attributed to either Phoenix or "Central Arizona".
They do happen on occasion but pretty much only the far western portions and the panhandle. I've never personally experienced one in 34 years living along or east of I-35.
Here's one from the very tip of the Oklahoma panhandle in 2014.
