I imagine I'll use mine for carrying my chainsaw when doing local trails too...

I will be posting up! I am cheating a bit, going with a small group including a guide that provides all the meals. I just have to solve for sleeping accommodations and my drinks (around all my trail gear and spare of course). If I had to deal with food there is no way it would all fit in the Jeep, at least hot food! Cue all the guys that fit full camping gear in a TJ in 3...2...1

More Rubicon prep - installed new 4 point harnesses with a simple belt buckle.

I had 5 point racing style before which was overkill, hard to secure and the shoulder straps are lost in the oblivion of my storage unit.

Going back to harnesses after the seat belt was putting a lot of pressure on my neck and shoulder on recent wheeling trips.

Think minimalist backpacking gear. There are people that can fit a weeks provisions on their back and lug it around too.my sister regularly does trips of over 100 miles on foot. Gourmet meals? No. But its easily doable

Yup. I've seen it watching @macleanflood come to TJ Fest a couple of years now!

I have similar belts in mine.. I debated about getting 5 point and then decided it wasn't needed with what I was doing....

We had 3 people, my refrigerator and a table top grill when we did it. I can’t recall what all was cooked but I know we took a carton of eggs for breakfast on the griddle and I think there may have been steaks. We ate well.

We did take my trasharoo that I tore up on the escalator earlier that year. Had to put a trash bag liner in it so stuff didn’t fall out the holes.

Best pic I have of what all we took. All windows and upper doors are in there incase the weather turned. Tools, camping supplies etc. I definitely see a full case of water.

5-6 rigs led by an experienced guide. Food provided and weather looking good...I couldn't be more stoked. I haven't slept on the ground in a tent in over a decade but I likely could sleep right on a rock after non stop rock crawling all day!

It's all great. I don't try to fit a spare inside.

We went camping back in May for 3 days with our car because the jeep was mid-repairs in the garage. Sleeping bag for 2, 3-person tent, camp chairs, food, small cooler, cook kit, clothes. Tent, sleeping bags, pads, chairs and cooler were all in the frunk.

I also bought three ceiling fans at Costco once and then at checkout remembered what I drove...
They all fit.

But I'm also more into backpacking from the jeep, and everything fits in a ~50L pack. It's just a different mindset.

That’s a very fine alternate vehicle for a road trip…

Thanks. We like it and do all kinds of trips with it. It has a roof rack and just enough space inside and in the frunk.
It's not been any more difficult to work on than the TJ with the exception of changing spark plugs every 40k requires removing the side mufflers. Hard to believe it already 17 years old.

I used to be an avid backpacker too.. And could fit everything I needed for a weeks trip into my TJ too... But now I'm OLD & spoiled and want to not sleep on the ground...
So I'm working on figuring out how to fit a tent & cot into my rig.
