Cooked up a peach upside-down cake in a new to us 9x13 cast iron baking pan. Turned out passable for my first time baking in cast iron. I should have spaced the peaches out a little better, and added extra brown sugar.

Have you been to the Ldge cast iron store there in South Pittsburgh? I could spend thousands of dollars in there. My wife has to drag me outta there screaming and kicking like a little girl. Love cast iron.

The peach cake looks fantastic. What time are we cutting it?

That's where I work part time...... you come to the store while I'm there and you can use my employee discount.

If you shop the seconds it's well worth it.

We cut the cake about 15 minutes after it came out of the oven....... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I'm looking for a temperature probe kit for my smoker, preferably with dual probes that can be left in the meat indefinitely and connected to the receiver with wire. I'd also like the receiver to have both a display of it's own and Bluetooth/WIFI. What are you guys using?

I presently have 2 wireless Mavericks and they are practically worthless, supposed to last 4 hours and I am lucky to get 45 minutes. No more wireless.

What would really be nice is one that has 1 or 2 meat probes and a temperature monitor for the actual smoker itself.

Weber iGrill2

I have that, as well as the iGrill mini. Love it. Has a phone app also. You can buy generic probes for cheap as well. Get it on Amazon and see what you think so if you decide it's not for you, you have 30 days to return it. I'll be surprised if you don't love it.

Edit: I don't think they have wifi versions, but it does have Bluetooth. I don't think i have a need for it to have wifi, so I never looked into it.

Also, you can go ahead and download the app and see the features it offers.

I've had a ThermoWorks Signals for the last 6-7 years. I use it with my BGE. It's got four meat probes and a pit probe. There's an app and a website for setting and monitoring temperatures. It works well. I recall some frustration getting the WiFi hooked up, but it's been solid ever since. I've had to replace a probe or two over the years due to water intrusion.

If you don't need the WiFi or app and they've got the Smoke and the Smoke X4. And you can get in a color to match your TJ..........

Oddly when I follow your link it comes up on the ThermoWorks site for $249, but if I Google it there is another link to the ThermoWorks site for $49, the exact same unit. It even shows the original price of $249 crossed out:

https://www.tharmoworkius.shop/prod...wireless-technology-2/?attribute_pa_color=red

Yep I didn't read the whole site. I called ThermoWorks just now and they confirmed it is a counterfeit and they are aware of it and have reported it. He pointed out that in the website address they spelled ThermoWorks "tharmoworkius". They even use the official ThermoWorks logo and I fell for it.

Guess I need to be examining everything more closely before I order stuff. I screwed up on AliExpress and ordered what I thought was a 180 watt capacity tester because that's what the description said but I missed the small selection buttons that select between 150 and 180 so I ended up with a 150.

Yep, no way that’s legit. If you can get one for $50, you should buy all of them.

Oh, and, their customer support has always been really good.

Well, this thread has taught me that I'm apparently a stone-age chef 😂. Never would have thought wifi would be needed for something like this, and I can come up with zero legitimately useful reasons I would need it. I'm surprised so many of you do use it.

I just track my grill or smoker temp and meat temp. I'm always close enough wifi doesn't matter in regards to range. My thought process is, even if I was away from home and see a temperature drop, that doesn't really help me, because I can't do anything about it on my smoker or charcoal grill if I'm not at home with it. And if I was that concerned about what I was cooking I wouldn't venture that far from it.

Not knocking what you guys do at all. Just surprised to see that as a useful feature for some.

It can be handy when you're doing a brisket overnight, just a peek at your phooooone when you wake up at 2:00 AM to see how things are going without getting out of bed.
